coaldustcanary: Eleanor of Aquitane from The Lion In Winter (eleanor)
Dear Author:

Thanks for checking out my letter! I've included some general notes about my preferences up front, some detailed prompts and thoughts about each of my requested characters, and then a big list of "Things I Generally Like in Fic" at the very end.

The big picture: Overall, I am open to fic of any rating, and including any AO3 Archive Warning if appropriate to the story. When prompting for romantic pairings or shippy content I'm happy to receive (but in no way require) sexual content. I permit and welcome treats of any kind.

Elly Conway | Rachel Kylle

Elly Conway, perma-tired and people-avoidant 43 year old cat lady wearing mom jeans and a cardigan while having writer's block about Henry Cavill characters, are you, in fact, me?

I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed this film, absurd as it is. Feel free to lean into the absurdity and the meta-ness of it, but I’m also equally happy to play the trope train of it straight, because I loved every cliched beat. Anything you want to create related to Elly | Rachel would be very welcome.

DNW:
*Non-canonical Major Character Death (Temporary character death is always OK and one of my likes.)
*Attributing canon relationships with men to compulsory heterosexuality or otherwise explicitly contradicting the possibility of the requested character being bisexual (canon divergence where the canon relationships don’t exist in the first place is OK, including only f/f relationships is OK)

Preferred Ships: I definitely enjoy the Elly/Aidan romcom thing (he is so incredibly pathetic (affectionate) for her, Sam Rockwell has sad wet dog vibes down pat), but I am extremely interested in exploring her implied relationships/flirtations/“things” with Saba and or LaGrange as well. Gen with literally anybody else in the cast, including “Mom and Dad” are very welcome, too.

Pre-canon, pre-Elly ideas:
*The early days of her partnership with Aidan and/or Keira, or mission fic. What was Rachel like then? How did they get on?
*What exactly happened in Mogadishu between her and Aidan, and was it romantic from the get-go, or was it fuckbuddies to lovers, or something else entirely?
*Saba al-Badr definitely implied that they had a thing. And if the meeting with LaGrange was anything like the version in the book, Rachel is bisexual as hell. What were either of those interactions like?

During the “5 years”:
*Was the Division totally blindsided by the popularity of the books or what? It seems like that kind of publicity would have been much more of a problem for them than if she’d lived at home with mom and dad and self-published.
*Love the idea of Elly having vague, angsty feelings of discontent about something being missing in her life that she can’t quite put her finger on at any point during those 5 years. There’s a lot of ground to dig in with Elly fighting the fake memories (and self-doubt) when she has the inexplicable feeling that she should be out having the adventures she’s writing about.
*Vogler drafted Elly’s diaries to get her writing - did she outline the character of Argylle, too? Who defined him as, well, him, and did Elly go back and forth about wanting to write a female protagonist in her novels, but get talked out of it? (Feel free to ignore that last “1 year later” scene at the very end, same for the mid-credit scene, if you go this route.)
*Her interactions with fans seem so incredibly exhausting for her! Is that something the Division is explicitly manipulating alongside her anxiety and panic attacks (seems likely) or is there more to it?

Canon and post-canon:
*Any kind of missing scene that digs into how Elly was feeling at any point in the film that we didn’t actually see. I’m particularly curious about the time she would have spent getting ready for the mission to go to Saba’s palace at Alfie’s place. Did the whole cosplay aspect of it freak her out or kinda thrill her a bit? Maybe she had a pep talk with Argylle in a mirror? Maybe Aidan or Alfie had to talk her through more nerves?
*How much does she ultimately decide to remain Elly Conway? Just to get the final book published? Just as a pen name, or as more than that? How does she wrestle with being both Elly and Rachel?
*Anything about how her relationship with Aidan has changed and that they’re going to be different people now given everything that happened, and negotiating that reality, for good and ill.
*What’s next for her? Back to the spy game? Another series of books? Taking time away from it all for a bit? Becoming someone else entirely? (Again, feel free to ignore the thing that happens at the “1 year later” scene if you like, or play with it in a way that doesn’t have to be consistent with the mid-credit scene.)

Art (everything above is also fair game as a prompt, but also):
Elly cuddling Alfie the Cat!
Anything playing with identity issues, such as Elly looking in a mirror and seeing Rachel instead of herself or Argylle, or something blurring the lines between the fantasy of the books and the reality. (My pet headcanon is that half of the movie is this already beyond even the appearances by Argylle himself - the colorful gunfight dance and the oil slick ice skating murder party in particular seem like we’re getting a highly fictionalized view of what went down, to say the least. The infrared views were showing standard gunfight action, not a dance party!)

Gaby Teller

Gaby Teller

Abandoned by her father, picked up by a potentially very dangerous spymaster, and dealing with two barely-cooperating “top spies” with apparently more ego than sense, Gaby manages a lot over the course of the film, and keeps her eyes on the target. Like a lot of “the girl” characters in spy films she exists in the narrative mostly for the guys’ stories, but I like anything that explores what she wants, thinks, or feels in her situation.

Preferred Ships: The OT3 (Gaby/Illya/Napoleon) is my main ship for this fandom, but I love her individually with either of them, and am also intrigued by Gaby/Waverly. Gaby/Victoria and Gaby/Alexander (or Gaby/Victoria/Alexander) for darker AUs has potential as well. Gen with any of them are also very much of interest.

Prompts

Pre-canon:
Anything about Gaby’s youth in Berlin. How much did she know about her father, off in the US working for the government while she lived through the post-war privation, her mother died, and she ended up with a foster family? What was her childhood like, and how did it shape her attitudes so that when Waverly came calling she said “yes”?

How did Waverly recruit her? Anything about that interaction and how it went down would be fantastic.

Canon divergence where Uncle Rudi found her and took her in as a child, even as he was still an unhinged henchman torturer for fascist baddies. Does she end up coming to the events of the film in a very different way? Does she work for the Vinciguerras, too? Victoria seems to find her somewhat amusing, and I could imagine a very terrifying mentorship situation happening there.

Film events:

Any missing scene or canon divergence of events you might choose to concoct. Gaby makes a bit of an attempt to get close to Alexander Vinciguerra at the party - what might that have looked like if she had more opportunity before Illya trampled on it?

A character study/deep dive regarding her apparent feelings for Illya. How much of it is performance, how much of it is earnest, and how much of it is deeply frustrating to her? How complicated is her affection for a staunchly Soviet son of Mother Russia, given her life in Berlin?

Post-canon:

As an UNCLE agent Gaby will be traveling outside of Germany for likely only the second meaningful time in her life post-film if they head to Istanbul as implied; she's also significantly younger and less experienced than Illya and Napoleon per their end-of-film dossiers. Despite getting one over on the CIA's best and the KGB's finest in the film, perhaps she has uncertainty about choosing the spy's life (maybe Illya and/or Napoleon even grimly encourage her to get out while she can) and she has to actively decide to stay with UNCLE (and her partners) when given the opportunity to do something different.

Alternately, she leaves the spy game after she’s fulfilled her obligations (whatever they might be) to Waverly, and does something else entirely. I could see her skills finding use in a number of other contexts. Does she get dragged back into espionage at some point?

Eventually Gaby and Napoleon have a conversation about her giving him up to the Vinciguerras, which led to his torture. (I don’t request this to see Gaby self-flagellate over her choices, and I don’t think there’s much evidence that Solo seriously holds it against her, but I do like the idea that there is tension there that would need to be worked out at some point if they’re going to continue working together.) Maybe they talk, maybe they fight, maybe they get drunk together, maybe they fuck about it, your call.

On a mission her partner(s) is/are somehow incapacitated and/or presumed dead and she has to finish the job all on her own, or she’s sent on a solo mission without backup, and things get hard.

Waverly’s mentorship as a potentially very double-edged sword. I am a bit weak for the idea that over time he wants her to be his successor, but that’s a hell of a lot of responsibility.

Years down the line, Gaby post-retirement, whatever that might look like. How might she view the way politics and global events have changed the world up to the modern era? What role might she have played in it? The idea of looking back on a life well-lived (?) is always interesting.

Art (everything above is also fair game as a prompt, but also):
Gaby developing her own sense of style (versus being dressed by Illya, however stylish his choices) is really interesting to me. If you want to play with mid-60s fashion for her, go nuts!

Brienne of Tarth

Book Brienne has been my fandom fave for literal decades at this point, and Gwendoline Christie’s Brienne in Game of Thrones is a different character from the book but embodied her so well. I have a huge number of issues with the way that the show panned out overall but very few specific to her character arc. She is the perfect mirror held up to Westerosi knighthood and she shows every way it is lacking by being a truer knight than any of the rest.

Preferred Ships: Brienne/Jaime, Brienne/Margaery, Brienne/Sansa, Brienne & Pod

Prompts:

A historical look back on Ser Brienne of Tarth, Lord Captain of the Kingsguard (potentially written in the style of Fire & Blood with conflicting viewpoints!) would be very cool.

I am always happy to devour fic that has Brienne/Jaime work out differently. Messy and complicated and even ugly, sure, but basically everything that happened after he knighted her (a top-3 moment of my fandom life was seeing that on screen) was something of a disaster! Let her stop him from going, let him survive somehow, even successfully fleeing with Cersei. Give them the opportunity to find one another again and work out better!

Brienne at Highgarden, somehow, among the Tyrells. I always found Margaery’s (and Olenna’s) appreciation of Brienne as being very much curiosity on their part about how she could benefit them, but I could also see something more meaningful and mutual developing. The Tyrells very much look out for themselves but appreciate those who serve them, and I could see an unconventional but true knight becoming something special in the heart of chivalrous Westeros. I like the idea of Margaery/Brienne, with any tone from sweet to political to kinky, or even to Brienne marrying Loras to give him cover while she and Margaery run the show.

Brienne’s fierce protection of Sansa becoming something more intimate. Loyalty, baby! Alternately, an AU where she remains at Sansa’s side in the North as her Queensguard and doesn’t return to Westeros, and how she would fare in that world.

I always love Brienne mentoring Pod, and Pod in turn helping Brienne. Their relationship is one of my top platonic relationships in the show, and something from Pod’s POV would be really welcome!

Lately I’ve been really curious about Brienne in a time loop. I know time loops/time travel/fix-it plots are popular in Game of Thrones fandom, but Brienne’s utterly fierce devotion to rightness would be so interesting to explore in that context. I’d leave it up to you the point of the loop or time travel (and am open to her traveling even back to pre-canon history rather than within the frame of canon).

General Likes and Preferences

Setting tropes and AU premises I love
  • canon divergence/"what if" AUs - I love butterfly effect, "change one thing" AUs especially!
  • soulmates and soul bonds - and soulmate subversion, and soulmates played dark or strange - feel free to play it straight but I also love characters choosing someone(s) other than a soulmate, or the notion of soulmates being as much trouble as they are a joy. The worldbuilding would be wild in a world where soulmates are A Thing - I love exploring the effects of that, and the ambiguous bits of such an AU.
  • battle couples/trios - ties neatly into competency kink and loyalty kink sexual likes, but non-sexual love and romance among folks who fight together is A+ also
  • magical aus (give non-magical characters/canons magic - telepathy, mind magic, arcane magic, spellcasting. Though many of the canons I tend to like have magic of some kind, feel free to go on a worldbuilding dive into what any of my non-magical canon requests might look like if magic was real.)
  • alternate magical system AUs (keep the canon magic, but make it different somehow)
  • fairy tale AUs
  • daemon AUs (or any other "sentient animal companion" magic settings - Valdemar's Companions, Chronicles of the Cheysuli's lir, the "Animalled" of Beukes' Zoo City, witch familiars, etc)
  • time loops/Groundhog Day premise (via magic or weird science or no explanation whatsoever)
  • undercover antics and/or identity porn - undercover fake married, partners or lovers undercover as enemies, or characters having overlapping complex arrangements of fake identities are all good
  • future fic and "next gen" fic (about children of canonical characters as older teens or adults)
  • ghosts, communicating with the dead (via magic or weird science)
  • enemies to lovers
  • werewolves and other were-creatures/animal shapeshifters - tying into magical AUs, I like "everyone's a werewolf" or some kind of magical critter AUs, or just one particular character being "other". Mixing and matching - werewolf and vampire, or werewolf and magical creature hunter, for example, is also a lot of fun.
  • sharing a bed (sexual, romantic, or platonic) - enforced intimacy!
  • huddling for warmth - more enforced intimacy!
  • trapped in a cabin in a blizzard - are you seeing the trend about enforced intimacy?!
  • Hurt/Comfort - see the whole section on this trope below

Hurt/Comfort & Whump favorites
(note that the "comfort" can be sexual, romantic, or platonic)
The thing I really like the most about h/c and whump is the intimacy of it all. The caring for another person in h/c, and/or the traumatic headspace/emotional rollercoaster of pain and angst the whumped character goes through are absolutely my personal catnip.

Hurt and Whump Preferences:

  • torture - I'm generally interested in the emotions and sensory elements more than the gore here. Exhaustion, pain, lingering emotional/mental trauma and mild-to-moderate long-term physical effects are my preferences. I'm less interested in super-severe injury, amputation, or mindbreak-levels of torture.
  • sleep deprivation/exhaustion
  • noble self-sacrifice - risking harm or death (by performing a noble last stand, or being a distraction, or playing the honeypot, or offering yourself up for torture/assault) to spare others punishment or to allow them to escape
  • drugging
  • hallucinations
  • forced to watch others being hurt

Comfort Preferences:

  • hair touching/running fingers through hair
  • helping others with personal care - hair washing, shaving, injury tending
  • small acts of intimacy/care - preparing food, standing guard while the hurt one sleeps, sharpening the hurt one's edged weapons or cleaning their guns
  • sex (with some consideration for the seriousness of the hurt, but I do not expect medical accuracy)

Sex tropes I love
  • dubcon - specifically in situations when both/all parties are consenting under duress due to outside forces, such as "sex pollen", "bad guys made them do it", or character(s) consenting to spare another character from having to do so. I like all kinds of outcomes from this plot - the somewhat positive outcomes of admitting hidden feelings or strengthening a relationship after such a difficult experience; a more tragic or negative outcome such as the end of a relationship/partnership, or tragedy; or something ambiguously between the two - I'm happy with any direction unless otherwise requested in my DNWs for a particular fandom/character/ship.
  • bondage - particularly of stoic or restrained characters getting tied up and absolutely wrecked
  • first time sex - both first time sex ever or first time performing a particular sex act for a character if there's a reasonable characterization of said character as inexperienced, and also first time sex with a particular partner
  • sex magic
  • pegging (both f/m and f/f)
  • praise kink - particularly of stoic and/or damaged characters unused to and undone by praise
  • casual physical intimacy between partners - falling asleep on partner's shoulder, cuddling, spooning, etc., especially of characters not used to casual physical intimacy becoming comfortable with it - this could include both characters who have lots of casual sex but not much casual cuddling, or characters who are touch starved or anything in between
  • begging during sex ("please!")
  • sex as an emotional outlet in the wake of tragedy or grief, such as friends grieving the loss of a mutual friend or loved one or getting over a shared bad experience
  • Dominance/submission (though I prefer it NOT be formalized BDSM, such as negotiating safewords and "Master/sir" address, etc. Also, if it's f/m I generally prefer the female character be dominant unless otherwise requested. For my various gender composition OT3+ ships I either don't care or will specify in the prompts.)
  • sex between platonic friends
  • competence kink
  • threesomes
  • loyalty kink
  • oral sex and fingering/handjobs, both as a precursor to vaginal or anal sex, and as its own thing

Dear Creator:

Thanks for checking out my letter! I've included some general notes about my preferences up front, some detailed prompts and thoughts about each of my requested fandoms, and then a big list of "Things I Generally Like in Fic" at the very end. I am generally very easy to please and welcome just about any kind of gift you think I might like if my specific prompts don't grab you.

Please note that I'm very enthusiastic about all of my nominated ships, but some are ships I request in just about every exchange I participate in while others are totally new, so there are vastly differing amounts of prompts for some requests below.

Overall, I am open to fic or art of any rating, and including any AO3 Archive Warning if appropriate to the story. When prompting for romantic pairings or shippy content I'm happy to receive (but in no way require) explicit sexual content.

The Witcher (TV)
Geralt/Jaskier/Yennefer
Geralt/Istredd/Yennefer

What I like about the canon: Very attractive people in an interesting fantasy setting taking themselves just seriously enough for the show to be a blast. I'm looking forward to S2 very much and will have consumed it by the time this exchange reveals; feel free to incorporate it into your work but also feel free to ignore it if you prefer.

Geralt/Jaskier/Yennefer is my default OT3 for this fandom. Whenever there is a strong-but-vulnerable hero with a fierce female love interest AND a charismatic best friend/sidekick/friendly rival my mind immediately leaps to "but what if the love interest and the friend team up to absolutely wreck the hero?" and my imagination has not really left this general vicinity since I first watched the show. Please feel free to give me Yennefer and Jaskier teaming up somehow (not necessarily romantically, at least at first) and deciding the best thing for them and for Geralt is for them to share...Geralt. A few ideas:

Yennefer hears "Her Sweet Kiss" performed and takes it as a compliment (while maybe also hearing Jaskier's jealousy in it loud and clear) and seeks him out to see if he'll write more songs about her. They team up in a very entrepreneurial way and Geralt isn't sure if he's relieved that they're not sniping at one another constantly or very, very afraid. (Or maybe more than a little turned on?)

Post S1, Jaskier and Yennefer run into one another before either one sees Geralt again under whatever circumstances you can imagine. Maybe they help each other get ahead of some angry Nilfgardians, or recognize one another while trying to lay low, and they grudgingly team up, and decide to stay that way until they can find Geralt and his Child Surprise. (I quite like Ciri and she can feature heavily if you choose!)

Alternately, it looks like Yennefer spends time as a prisoner of Nilfgard per the teasers for S2 - maybe Jaskier *also* winds up as a prisoner and they have to team up to survive and help out when Geralt inevitably comes to rescue them!

Feel free to play with the notion of a single event told from different perspectives (Geralt, Yen, and Jaskier - and maybe Ciri, too?) or Ciri's outsider POV on the three of them (she's very clever and I would be intrigued to see how she sizes up both Yen and Jaskier).

Geralt/Istredd/Yennefer is super-intriguing to me. I've not read the books, but I've heard Istredd therein characterized as very jealous of Geralt/Yennefer and combative with Geralt. I'd much rather go with the more laid-back show characterization of Istredd, who seems to have largely moved on from his infatuation from Yennefer...but has he really? Ideas:

Sex magic of some kind that Yen and Istredd have to peform, and somehow Geralt's nature can power or amplify the magic.

Istredd gets curious about this Geralt dude and how he's managed to capture Yennefer's interest for so long, and he decides he needs to know more - much more - about him.

Geralt and Yennefer need some knowledge or magical item that Istredd possesses, and either he Needs to be Convinced to share, or drives a hard bargain.

Sex pollen or magic gone awry!

DNW: Permanent character death of requested characters. (Temporary death or other characters believing character to be dead is great!) Mundane/No Magic AU. (Modern with magic is fine.)

The Man From U.N.C.L.E (2015)
Illya Kurakin/Napoleon Solo/Gaby Teller

I only saw this film for the first time in late 2018 and I fell for it (and three ridiculous spies and their complicated relationship) very hard. The film has beautiful people, beautiful cinematography, gorgeous costumes, and a perfect soundtrack. It combines multiple strains of classic tropey relationship development: enemies to colleagues to friends (to lovers?) for all three of them, plus the great fake engagement between Illya and Gaby, the rivals to friends competition and one-upmanship between Illya and Napoleon, and then multiple big damn rescues (Napoleon rescuing Illya from drowning, Illya rescuing Napoleon from the electric chair, and then Napoleon and Illya both rescuing Gaby from the Vinciguerras). And all of it against a fun, iconic 60s setting backdrop, serving to set up the idea of them working together as a team for the forseeable future.

Prompts:

I live for tropey setups that push them into intimate situations and "oh. oh." realizations about how they feel about one another. Injuries in the line of duty, snowbound in a cabin, hurt/comfort, self-sacrifice (particularly when Napoleon Solo, Mr. Supposedly Always Looking Out For #1, does something very stupid and dangerous to save one or both of his partners, though I like this trope for any of the three of them), big fucking rescues (just like in the movie!), truth serum or other drugs, sharing a bed, etc. I particularly enjoy when they're trying very hard to focus on the extremely important world-saving case and/or punching Nazis but they keep getting distracted by how incredibly inconvenient their attraction to/affection for their partners has become.

Five times fics - whether a time loop caused by a mad scientist's machine, or due to drug/exhaustion hallucinations the same scenario plays out different ways, or a bunch of different themed incidents on different missions - are always good!

Undercover antics - I love the notion of the three of them all doing a mission with different covers (that might know each other or not) and having to play a dynamic that either differs from the one they share or reinforces feelings they're trying to ignore. For example, on a future mission it's Napoleon and Gaby playing at being engaged or married, and Illya "realizes" they're perfect for one another and tries (miserably) to "back off" much to his partners' confusion.

Napoleon does his best to matchmake Illya and Gaby and catches extremely inconvenient feelings for them both in the process.

As an UNCLE agent Gaby will be traveling outside of Germany for likely only the second meaningful time in her life post-film; she's also significantly younger and less experienced than Illya and Napoleon per their end-of-film dossiers.

Any two of the three have to team up to rescue the third. (Doing a "three times" variation of this including scenarios where each pair has to save the third would be fun.)

Wild AU premises that seem interesting: supernatural elements, magical realism, a world where magic is known and they all have it, or space opera/sci-fi settings all sound like fun.

One of the trio gets blackmailed - perhaps with evidence of their unconventional relationship, or even just their feelings for one another - and tries to deal with the problem alone. (I could particularly see this being the sort of thing Illya would do, but again, any of them would fit here.)

Post-retirement future fic - what might they get up to once they're too old to be in the field? What if injuries take one or more of them out of the game even earlier? What if they end up being pulled back to their respective agencies but only meet again by chance 10, 15, or 20 years post-movie?

Illya/Napoleon and Illya/Gaby are the main ships of the fandom besides the trio, but I find Gaby/Napoleon really intriguing - a fic where they believe Illya to be dead, or he's somehow out of their reach (a prisoner, gravely injured, on a mission that they can't interfere in without huge risk) and they hook up out of grief or fear or even in anger would be interesting. (And then they go rescue Illya, right?)

I do very much enjoy them getting up to sexcapades in any context. Feel free to totally ignore my headcanons, but when it comes to sex my thoughts are:
  • Illya has incredible sub energy and a praise kink the approximate size of the sun.
  • Napoleon is both really full of himself and confident in bed but isn't entirely comfortable with sex that has anything to do with feelings.
  • Gaby can be incredibly aggressive and likes to be in charge (she tackled Illya to the ground, after all) but has a hard time letting her guard down and being in the moment.
Dubcon scenarios like sex pollen, bad guys make them do it, having to have sex to keep their cover with one another or others are always interesting and welcome for these three (or any two of the three, as long as the overall/end ship is the trio) especially if it leads to major angst. Napoleon being extremely blasé about sex-for-the-job (even when it's only marginally consensual) in ways that unsettle his partners is a favorite trope of mine. (His slightly-strained insistence that he tried exhausting Victoria, presumably via marathon sex, in the film and his "womanizer" diagnosis hints at a lot that I'm curious about.)

Speaking of Victoria, if you're inspired to write any kind of "case fic" I think she is a fabulous villain and would love anything with her as the antagonist of the piece, trying to get her revenge on Napoleon and/or the trio!

DNW: Permanent character death of requested characters. (Temporary death or other characters believing character to be dead is great!) Modern mundane AU.

Once Upon a Time (TV)
Captain Hook | Killian Jones/Milah/Emma Swan

What I like about the canon: A ridiculous show, but one with so much narrative potential that sometimes got used to good effect but was often squandered. I liked the canon Hook/Emma romance well enough, but felt that the show mishandled a lot of things, but none so badly as Milah's death and lack of happy ending.

Prompts:

I am always game for Enchanted Forest AUs where pirates Killian and Milah deal with Princess Emma, whether kidnapping her for ransom, dealing with her as a stowaway, or planning to deliver her to the Evil Queen. Role swaps or reversals in this setting would also be very welcome!

Canon Divergence options where Milah ends up in Storybrooke would be wonderful - she could be there from the start somehow (Rumple didn't kill her, just trapped her somehow?) or have come back during one of the various re-applications of the Curse. I would love her and Emma becoming friends and bonding over shared experiences; I think they could have been amazing together.

Killian and Emma somehow manage to bring Milah back to life or at least rescue her from the River of Souls via unintentional sex magic.

Soulbond AU. Milah and Killian were soulmates. When he realizes Emma is also his soulmate, he thinks he's the luckiest man in any world there is. When, in the Underworld, Emma and Milah realize they're soulmates as well, things become both more clear and a lot more confusing.

A Song of Ice and Fire - George R.R. Martin
Stannis Baratheon/Salladhor Saan/Davos Seaworth
Stannis Baratheon/Oberyn Martell/Davos Seaworth

Why I like this canon: Book-verse Stannis/Davos has been one of my immediate "damn, these two and the loyalty" insta-OTPs since I first read the books. Their dynamic is so fascinating, I love the idea of other characters being pulled into their orbit and seeing how it affects them as well as the character pulled in their wake. Please note that while I also prompt Game of Thrones ships, I want book-canon characterization/appearance for these characters. I'm also fine with Stannis's and Davos's wives existing as in canon, or being dead, or just not mentioned, but would prefer they not play significant roles in the fic.

For Stannis/Salladhor/Davos, I really like the idea of Davos being pulled between these two men, the prince and the pirate, and his long-standing affection and loyalty to each as a man in the middle. I also think Stannis complains about Salla being a consummate pirate in his dealings, but also despite his stiff-necked opinions on such things, has an appreciation for Salla's cleverness and loyalty to Davos.

I could really see Salla being a "trusted third" brought into the bedroom of Stannis and Davos to fulfill a fantasy, or what one or both of them believe is a fantasy the other has.

I like Stannis as King canon divergence, with Davos as his Hand and Salla as his Master of Ships, with talk of governance or war turning to something else entirely as passions flame high!

For Stannis/Oberyn/Davos, I want Oberyn brazenly seducing Stannis, Davos, or both. Maybe he's surprised when seducing one inspires the jealousy of the other, or maybe that was his intention all along - either way he's fine with it, why choose one or the other when both is just as good?

I'm also open to a Westeros where same-sex marriage is a thing (and am really interested in any worldbuilding details around such arrangements, such as kinship issues, inheritance, fostering, and adoption, etc) and Stannis and Oberyn are engaged or married, but Stannis still carries a torch for his loyal knight Davos. Maybe three-way marraiges are even allowed, but Davos's low birth is a problem for the Seven Kingdoms as a whole even if both Stannis and Oberyn don't share that opinion. Maybe Oberyn encourages his husband to go for it, if he can watch, or potentially participate.

DNW: Permanent character death of requested characters. (Temporary death or other characters believing character to be dead is great!) Modern mundane AU.

Game of Thrones (TV)
Tyrion Lannister/Jon Snow/Daenerys Targaryen
Tyrion Lannister/Sansa Stark/Margaery Tyrell

I've been thinking a lot about Tyrion lately, so both of these ships just jumped out at me. As a long-time fan of the books, the show in turns satisfied me deeply and made me want to throw things. Dinklage's Tyrion was one of the highlights for me, despite the mess the final season turned into. I'm interested in a lot of different approaches to these ships.

For Tyrion/Jon/Dany I really loved how much Tyrion and Jon seemed to truly be in awe of Dany...until they weren't. I respect the actors, but the writing never sold me on the "well, now we have to kill her, she's beyond saving". Well, what if they'd tried? I don't really feel like they did anything but make sad faces and lecture the woman, while pulling the very shit she was worried about behind her back. Sigh. Show me something of that loyalty, those feelings, that seemed to be between these three early on but got washed out so easily.

Alternately, I am definitely interested in a Dany back from the dead somehow who is caught between her desire for vengeance and those feelings still.

I'm very interested in canon divergence where Viserion isn't taken by the White Walkers and Tyrion becomes a dragonrider. Jon and Tyrion as Dany's husbands a la Aegon, Visenya, and Rhaenys would be a lot of fun.

For Tyrion/Sansa/Margaery a hundred different canon divergence options suggest themselves. I love options where Sansa and Tyrion remain married (whether happily or very unhappily or - best yet - somewhere between the two) and Margaery becomes part of their relationship. In a canon divergence where Joffrey lives just long enough for Margaery to get pregnant and become Queen Regnant for her infant child and Tyrion isn't framed for Joffrey's murder, the three of them becoming a King's Landing Power Throuple would be a fascinating political intrigue and I'm very much here for it!

Alternately, Sansa and Tyrion both end up hiding in Highgarden in a canon divergence, and Margaery ends up becoming close to them both. I really like the notion of Margaery following up on her implication that Tyrion is far from the worst sort of husband Sansa might have with her own sort of admiration for the man. Maybe she helps Sansa see what's worth respecting, if not loving, in him.

But for these ships I'm really, really open for whatever strikes your fancy - surprise me!

DNW: Permanent character death of requested characters. (Temporary death or other characters believing character to be dead is great! Dany coming back from the dead is also A-OK!) Modern mundane AU.

  • daemon AUs (or any other "sentient animal companion" magic settings - Valdemar's Companions, Chronicles of the Cheysuli's lir, the "Animalled" of Beukes' Zoo City, witch familiars, and the like. even if it's not a setting where I know the canon I will probably be into it if it involves talking or psychic animals)
  • time loops/Groundhog Day premise (via magic or weird science or no explanation whatsoever - I'm fine with situations where only one character in the ship is looping or a ship loops together, either is good)
  • undercover antics and/or identity porn - undercover fake married, friends/partners/lovers having to pretend to be enemies for the job or politics, or characters having overlapping complex arrangements of fake identities are all good
  • future fic and "next gen" fic (about children of canonical characters as older teens or adults)
  • ghosts and communicating with the dead (via magic or weird science)

Hurt/Comfort & Whump favorites (note that the "comfort" can be sexual, romantic, or platonic)
The thing I really like the most about h/c and whump is the intimacy of it all. The necessity of physical proximity when caring for another person in h/c, and/or the traumatic headspace/emotional rollercoaster of pain and angst the whumped character (and also often the caregiver) goes through are absolutely my personal catnip.

  • sex (With some consideration for the seriousness of the hurt, but I do not expect medical accuracy. The stab victim can still have a little blow job, as a treat!)

Thank you for checking out my letter! I am opening myself up to fic of any length and whatever you might wish to create in other requested mediums for this exchange. I am good with works of any rating and welcome (but in no way expect or require) sexual content for romantic/sexual ship prompts. Below you will find some brief comments on what I like about each requested fandom and character or ship as well as some prompts for each request, and then a huge list of general likes at the end. A few fandoms and ships have specific DNWs, those are listed with each fandom. Don't feel bound by my prompts in this letter if you think you have an idea for something I will like based on my big likes list or prompts I've made previously in other exchanges.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E (2015)

Illya Kuryakin/Napoleon Solo/Gaby Teller
Worldbuilding

Any two of the three have to team up to rescue the third. (Doing a "three times" variation of this including scenarios where each pair has to save the third would be fun.)

Wild AU premises that seem interesting: supernatural/magical realism, a world where magic is known and they all have it, or space opera/sci-fi settings all sound like fun.

One of the trio gets blackmailed - perhaps with evidence of their unconventional relationship, or even just their feelings for one another - and tries to deal with the problem alone. (I could particularly see this being the sort of thing Illya would do.)

Worldbuilding:

What is U.N.C.L.E like? How does it function? How does it get off the ground and what kind of politics does Waverly have to play to keep it functioning and to steal out the KGB's best and the CIA's finest right out from under their noses? What kind of rules does it have, and how much do any of the agents, including our trio, actually follow them?

Feel free to crib from the TV show canon as much or as little as you might want if you're familiar - I've seen the first season and bits of the rest and enjoy it immensely.

Art: Love art that riffs off any of my prompts above or general likes. Any and all styles welcome, and it need not be overtly shippy.

In-universe documents - mission reports (with or without notes by each team member and/or Waverly), debriefings, transcribed interviews, or whatever else you can come up with. Stolen intelligence? A report by an enemy (THRUSH?) agent on any of the trio or Waverly or UNCLE as a whole?

Academic reports: An academic article or review about UNCLE as an agency or any or all of the agents would be really interesting. This could be from any era, including modern.

DNW: Characters under 16 having sex. (References to past underage sex are fine.) Modern Mundane AUs. Permanent major character death. (Temporary death and/or believing another character is dead for a time is fine, though.) Total downer endings. Endgame Illya/Gaby or Illya/Napoleon without the third character involved. (Established Illya/Gaby that becomes Illya/Gaby/Napoleon is fine!)

Motherland: Fort Salem (TV)

Abigail Bellweather & Petra Bellweather
Abigail Bellweather
Sarah Alder
Worldbuilding

Worldbuilding prompts:

I'm really curious about the Imperatrix and the whole witch "breeding program" - and how the heck she specifically (unlike every other witch we see) is not under Alder's authority. How did that happen? How has she lost track of so many witch lines? Is this cultural myopia or is something specifically sinister going on with her or her office? Are there similar programs in other countries?

In general, I would love fic or in-universe reports about any tiny speck of alternate history implied by the setting and explored. For example, I can't find the interview now (will link it here if I find it) but I read something last year in which the show's creator offhandedly mentioned that Sarah Alder's first and closest companions after the Salem Accords were previously enslaved witches, and seemed to strongly imply that most of High Atlantic society descends from former slaves, which is pretty fascinating! What would that have meant for society, both army and civilian?

What is up with The Cession? Are Native American/American Indian witches exempt from the Salem Accords? It seems to be something of a safe haven for witches who aren't entirely enthused about army life and a lot of Dodgers. The casual news report in Ojibwe was very interesting, too!

Sarah Alder

What are all these 80+ military campaigns that Alder's been involved in about? Obviously the Spree have been a big part for the past 20 years, but before that? Were they all witch rebels, or have non-witches fought witches in large numbers? Does every country have a witch army, now? How has Alder dealt with them over the years?

Abigail Bellweather (& Petra Bellweather)

Abigail is my favorite of the trio, though I love them all very much, but her angst over living up to familial expectations and figuring out how to make her own way in the world has been a compelling story. I really enjoy her complicated relationship with her mother (and grandmother, and three dads, and Charvel) and would love any kind of exploration of those bonds, Bellweather family expectations/goals for leadership, and what might be next for her as she stakes out her own special project.

(Side note: I like Adil, and I'm fine with Abigail/Adil being a background component of the fic, but I would prefer that it not be the focus of any story.)

DNW: Characters under 16 having sex. (References to past events are fine.) Modern Mundane AU. Permanent major character death. (Temporary death and/or believing another character is dead for a time is fine, though.) Total downer endings. Focus on Raelle/Scylla. (References/background existence of the relationship is fine, and the presence of either or both characters in the fanwork is also very welcome.)

John Wick (Movies)

Worldbuilding

These films are somehow exactly what would happen if you measured out a hearty few cups of my fascination for detailed "hidden world" worldbuilding, stirred in my heart-eyes love for Keanu Reeves, baked it up as a cake, and then frosted it with extremely sexy gratuitous violence and topped it with a puppy. These movies are just so freaking fun that they never get old for me.

Prompts:

Worldbuilding! Feel free to give me something from John's past or future that showcases how weird and wonderful the assassin-world of the films might be, set anywhere you think might be interesting. I'm always curious about what Continental Hotels other than New York and Rome might look like, how the various supporting figures (Charon, the Sommelier, the various other contacts for weapons, money, armor, resources, and the like that John comes into contact with) fit into the world or came to be there in the first place.

I'm also really intrigued by the use of metaphor/code, such as the exchange between John and the Sommelier in Rome about wine that was not at all about wine. The very blurry line between the "hidden world" and the "real world" - at no time during either film any of the more public acts of violence particularly shocking to onlookers - they certainly try to get out of the way, and there are muffled shrieks a time or two, but how is it that all of this happens with absolutely no intervention by the authorities? (Certainly Jimmy is in the know, but are all law enforcement? Are the films set in a universe where there's general awareness and acceptance that conflict between the powers that be are handled via assassination? Could there be magic involved? Sometimes I wonder when watching the films if there's some kind of power inherent in being an assassin who's a member of the underground world that allows them to hide in plain sight...)

Anything that digs into the notion of The High Table further is interesting, too. Implied textual evidence in the films suggests that only major organized crime institutions/families have claim to a seat at it - how did they get them in the first place, and how did those disparate families/groups ever agree to such a thing? There's a subtle implication, too, that the High Table is a very "old world" institution and that the "new world" doesn't have much power - why not, when so much organized crime came to the Americas alongside immigrants, including John himself?

Art: Of any character, OC, or significant location from the films would be welcome. Graphic violence is OK, but please nothing sexually explicit.

In-universe documents: Records kept in the book of blood oaths, a police report by Jimmy or another cop "in the know", other records kept by the High Table

DNW: Characters under 16 having sex. (References to past underage sex are fine.) Setting change AUs with the exception of adding magic or creeping horror elements to the canon setting. Canon divergence is also fine. Animal death. (Do not kill the dog, please. Major Character Death is fine for this fandom otherwise.)

Valdemar Series - Mercedes Lackey

Worldbuilding

With the announcement that the Valdemar books are being adapted for television, I've been feeling very nostalgic for this world. Valdemar was my first real fandom - I recieved Mercedes Lackey fan club newsletters in the mid 90s - and it will always hold a special place in my heart. I love the setting, despite (or perhaps because of) all it's melodrama and silliness.

Prompts: I'm mostly interested in stories that poke at expectations and understandings of the world presented in the book without going really grim-dark. Outsider's perspective on Valdemar and the Heralds. I particularly enjoyed Alberich, Kerowyn, and other non-Herald's more clear-eyed view the strengths and weaknesses of Valdemar's systems.

On the flip side, from the inside, what about a story about a member of the Valdemaran royal family who isn't Chosen, either due to a lack of Gift or the Companions deciding that they had some more important purpose in a different role?

The books imply that prospective Monarch's Own sometimes have "unbonded Choosings" and only *really* Bond with the Grove Born Companion when they take office. (When Jisa is a child in the Last Herald-Mage books Vanyel implies this could be her future, and it's not clear if it didn't happen for political (keeping her out of the line of succession) or practical (Randale wouldn't live long, anyway) reasons.) But... what would that be like, and in what circumstances might it happen? How would the "temporary Companion" feel about it?

Similarly, what happens when an adult Herald is tapped as the next Monarch's Own? Was their bond with their existing Companion not real? Would the Companions argue about it?

In general I'm curious about Companion interpersonal interaction. They are definitely implied to have human-like conflicts and prejudices. How does that play out? Do they chastise one another for breaking the rules? How?

For what it's worth, besides Alberich and Kerowyn some of my favorite characters are Talia and Dirk, Kris, Selenay, and Skif. From Vanyel's time, I am fond of him, Savil, as well as Randale, Shavri, and Jisa. But any characters not in my DNWs are fair game, as are OCs both from within and outside of Valdemar.

Sun/Shadow:

Link to the lyrics of all of the Sun & Shadow music here: http://www.goldenboughmusic.com/music/SunShadow/SunShadow.htm

The legend within the story, the one that Lackey swore she'd never actually write about - but I'm intrigued. We know that "officially" Sun and Shadow were cursed, eventually found magic to undo the curse but instead used it to free an heir of Valdemar from an evil mage and lost their chance to beat the curse, and were eventually chosen by Companions to become Heralds, which then (because Companion Magic, presumably) caused them to be freed from the curse.

But...is that really how it went down?

In addition to a direct take on the legend, I would also be game for any fic in the Valdemar setting that touches on the ballads themselves and doesn't directly include the prompted characters - a Bard character working on their own variation of the legend in song or poetry, an archivist trying to find the real history in the legend, a pair of starcrossed lovers somewhere else in the universe of the books relating to the great tragic love of Sun and Shadow.

I'd also be interested in a very meta take involving "Herald-Archivist Myste" (Mercedes Lackey's extremely transparent self-insert, gods love her) writing about (critiquing?) the ballads and the history if that's your interest.

Art: Love art that riffs off any of my prompts above or general likes. Any and all styles welcome, and it need not be overtly shippy.

In-universe documents/academic reports: Anything by Collegium researchers, Herald scholars (or Archivists), Bards, out-Kingdom mages or scholars traveling in Valdemar (or working off second and third-hand reports...), etc, would be great!

DNW: Characters under 16 having sex. (References to past underage sex are fine.) Focus on any of the characters from the books where Mags or his children are protagonists. I have not read these books (Collegium Chronicles/Family of Spies) so I'm not interested in any extension of their stories. However, the founding of the Collegia is of interest to me, so focus on a story in that time period with Original Characters is fine! (Mention of canonical characters from the Mags books is fine.)

Dear Creator:

Thank you for checking out my letter! I am requesting both fic and comics, and am open to a single 10k fic or two 5k fics, as well as a single 10 page comic or two 5 page comics at your discretion.

Please don't take the relative length of each section below as a comment on my enthusiasm for any particular fandom or ship - two of the requested ships are ones I very frequently request in a variety of exchanges, while others are newer to me so I don't have quite as many prompts, but I am very excited about all of these possible options!

The Man From U.N.C.L.E (2015)

Illya Kuryakin/Napoleon Solo/Gaby Teller

Fandom specific DNW: Modern Mundane AUs.

Game of Thrones (TV)

Oberyn Martell/Ellaria Sand/Sansa Stark

Game of Thrones was a very strange fandom experience for me: I've been a fan of the ASOIAF books since not long after A Game of Thrones was published in the late 90s, so it was a trip to see it all play out with a big budget on HBO. In particular, I really enjoyed the casting of Indira Varma as Ellaria and Pedro Pascal as Oberyn immensely and they went from characters of whom I was fond to beloved favorites, even knowing exactly where their plotline was headed, alas. I am intrigued by the idea of crossing the fascinating (and sadly underdeveloped) Dorne setting with Sansa's journey toward political acumen and "playing the game" as well. I can see a lot of different ways to set up this relationship - please choose whichever you find the most interesting!

Prompts:

I am a huge fan of butterfly effect canon divergence for the intricate Westeros setting, especially considering how many seemingly "minor" things end up causing a cascading effect in the political and martial conflicts in the series. Joffrey's death and Sansa's flight from King's Landing is a fascinating place to play with the notion of alternate outcomes - what if Oberyn and Ellaria's plan to make war on the Lannisters saw them deciding that stealing Sansa out from under the Lions' noses to be a more interesting play than getting involved in Tyrion's trial? I could particularly see Ellaria trying to convince Oberyn to play a longer game, and being more interested in what having Sansa with them in Dorne could allow them to accomplish.

I'm also interested in other setups to get Sansa to Dorne or at least involved in Dornish circles - might a desperate Ned (who perhaps discovered the Lannister plot before a formal Sansa/Joffrey betrothal announcement) or a King Robb in need of allies betroth Sansa to Oberyn in order to bring House Martell on as allies against the Lannister threat? Or, in a slightly altered timeline, might Hand of the King Tyrion have sent Sansa as a companion to Myrcella in Dorne to get her away from the capitol and potential threats? (I'm fine with her being married to Tyrion still in this setup, and her becoming a paramour to Ellaria and Oberyn anyway.)

I'm interested in what Sansa would make of Dornish customs and culture, and how she might relate to Oberyn and Ellaria's daughters. I don't expect she would be Shocked and Apalled at the differences, and I'd like it to be more than "Sansa is Girly and Repressed while Dornish Women are Liberated," but Sunspear seems to be a very different sort of court to King's Landing (or even Winterfell) and I'm wondering how she would fare there with her particular strengths and weaknesses.

Whether as a wife or as a paramour to Oberyn, Sansa being taught about sex and intimacy by Ellaria could be fun. Particularly as a wife, having a legitimate child might be seen as one way to make sure the bond between the North and Dorne is secure, especially given that Sansa might be considered Robb's heir at certain points in the timeline - trying to have a child, or dealing with pregnancy and childbirth might be another interesting angle.

I would be open to a lot of AUs in semi-canon or canon divergent settings - soulmates (any two of the three are soulmates, or all three of them are together), daemons, magic (magic is common in Westeros, or nobility have magic related to their sigils or their historic seats, or the events of the series lead to characters gaining magic) or other vaguely supernatural additions to Westeros are all great.

DNW: Modern Mundane AU. Permanent major character death. (Temporary death and/or believing another character is dead for a time is fine, though.) Total downer endings. (Bittersweet is fine.) Explicitly depicting Sansa as younger than 16. (I am fine with her relative youth compared to Oberyn and Ellaria to be brought up in the narrative, especially given that they have children together her age, but feel free to handwave or vague-up the timeline as necessary to say she's at least late teens at minimum.)

The Witcher (TV)

Geralt/Jaskier/Yennefer

Note for this fandom on new canon: Season 2 of The Witcher will premier on Netflix during the long writing period for this exchange. Please feel free to incorporate S2 in your work if you wish, but also feel free to ignore it entirely. I will definitely have consumed S2 by the time this exchange reveals.

I did not initially watch The Witcher with particularly high expectations - fun medieval-set swords and sorcery and Henry Cavill's ass in leather pants seemed like it would be a fun, non-serious return on investment of my time. I really ended up finding it an engaging world, and I love Geralt's relationships with both Yennefer and Jaskier immensely. I am fine with the relationship depicted as hinging on Geralt with Jaskier and Yennefer being "frenemies" rather than lovers, but I also like when Jaskier and Yennefer have a relationship as well.

Prompts:

Canon divergence with a comic edge: Yennefer finds out about "Her Sweet Kiss" sometime before the events of episode 6...and takes it as a compliment. So much so that she seeks out Jaskier to write more songs about her. Geralt is Confused and Concerned (and maybe a little turned on...)

Feel free to play with the notion of a single event told from different perspectives (Geralt, Yen, and Jaskier - and maybe Ciri, too?) or Ciri's outsider POV on the three of them (she's very clever and I would be intrigued to see how she sizes up both Yen and Jaskier).

I'm very open to just about every kind of AU besides modern & mundane - modern with magic is fine, alternate magical systems are intriguing, other fantasy and sci fi settings are very welcome (sudden idea - Valdemar setting, if you're familiar - Geralt as a Herald and Roach as a Companion, Jaskier as a Bard with the Gift, Yennefer as an out-Kingdom mage or Herald-Mage), or whatever quirky idea seems interesting to you.

If there's sexual content in the fic, I am particularly fond of Geralt getting taken care of and being topped lovingly by either or both of the others, as well as banter and general lightheartedness.

DNW: Modern Mundane AU. Permanent major character death. (Temporary death and/or believing another character is dead for a time is fine, though.) Total downer endings.

John Wick (Movies)

John Wick & John Wick's Unnamed Dog
or
John Wick

These films are somehow exactly what would happen if you measured out a hearty few cups of my fascination for detailed "hidden world" worldbuilding, stirred in my heart-eyes love for Keanu Reeves, baked it up as a cake, and then frosted it with extremely sexy gratuitous violence and topped it with a puppy. These movies are just so freaking fun that they never get old for me. Because my primary fascination with the fandom is through John Wick as a character moving through a complex world and how that world itself bends around him, I'm prompting the solo character and gen ship (because puppy). But! I also ship him with literally everyone he meets in all three films and am fine with a gift that includes shippy content as well. (Some of my favorites include Gianna, Cassian, and/or Charon, but when I say everyone I mean it.)

"Be seeing you, John" from Viggo Tarasov and "Be seeing you, John" signed by Ares at their deaths - while this was likely just a more reserved "see you in hell" sort of send-off...what if it wasn't? What if John is haunted by the ghosts of all his kills? Besides Viggo and Ares, Gianna and Santino's ghosts might be particularly difficult to deal with for him.

Fandom-specific DNWs: Setting change AUs with the exception of adding magic or creeping horror elements to the canon setting.

DNW: Focus on any of the characters from the books where Mags or his children are protagonists. I have not read these books (Collegium Chronicles/Family of Spies) so I'm not interested in any extension of their stories. However, the founding of the Collegia is of interest to me, so focus on a story in that time period with Original Characters is fine! (Mention of canonical characters from the Mags books is fine.) Characters under 16 having sex.

Hurt/Comfort & Whump favorites (note that the "comfort" can be sexual, romantic, or platonic)
The thing I really like the most about h/c and whump is the intimacy of it all.

  • sex (with reasonable consideration for the seriousness of the hurt!)

  • oral sex and manual stimulation, both as a precursor to vaginal or anal sex, and as its own thing

Dear Creator: Thanks for checking out my letter! In general I am open to fic of any rating and with any AO3 content warning. Note that if you think there's a fic concept that doesn't precisely align with a requested freeform but does include pining and you have reason to think I'd dig it based on my general likes, please go ahead and go with what inspires you.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E (2015)
Illya Kuryakin/Napoleon Solo/Gaby Teller

  • A and B are together but pine for C to join them
  • A B and C pine obliviously for each other
  • A attributes B & C's flirting to cultural differences
  • Character A knows B pines for C but provides emotional support and companionship
  • Character A pining silently so Characters B & C won't feel guilty for not returning their affections
  • Character A pining for B believes B/C relationship would be better for B and encourages it
  • Character C Pines For Characters A & B Who Are Together - Leads to Polyamory
  • Pining while trapped together
  • Pining while stuck in a time loop
  • Pining while tending someone's wounds
  • Pining while sharing a bed
  • Trying to Ignore Feelings While Forced to Work in Close Quarters With Person of Their Affection
  • Pining silently due to worry it will ruin working relationship
  • Undercover as a Couple While Pining
  • Rescue Mission while Pining
  • Sex While Pining - Something Made Them Do It
  • Pining while imprisoned

I really love my three favorite ridiculous spies as lovers and/or found family, saving the world from fascism and pulling each other out of trouble just as much as they drag each other into it. Note that while I prompted my two go-to pining arrangements--everybody pining, and Napoleon pining for established (or what he believes to be established) Gaby/Illya--I'm also very happy to receive a gift where Illya and/or Gaby is the one pining. I live for tropey setups that push them into intimate situations and "oh. oh." realizations about how they feel about one another. Injuries in the line of duty, snowbound in a cabin, hurt/comfort, self-sacrifice (particularly when Napoleon Solo, Mr. Supposedly Always Looking Out For #1, does something very stupid and dangerous to save one or both of his partners, though I like this trope for any of the three of them), big damn rescues (just like in the movie!), truth serum or other drugs, sharing a bed, etc. I particularly enjoy when they're trying very hard to focus on the extremely important world-saving case and/or punching Nazis but they keep getting distracted by how incredibly inconvenient their attraction to/affection for their partners has become.

Dubcon scenarios like sex pollen, bad guys make them do it, having to have sex to keep their cover with one another or others are always interesting and welcome, especially if it leads to major angst and heightens the intensity of the pining.

Undercover antics - I love the notion of the three of them all doing a mission with different covers (that might know each other or not) and having to play a dynamic that brings up feelings they're trying to ignore. For example, on a future mission it's Napoleon and Gaby playing at being engaged or married, and Illya "realizes" they're perfect for one another and tries (miserably) to "back off" much to his partners' confusion.

Napoleon does his best to matchmake Illya and Gaby and catches extremely inconvenient feelings for them both. Pining leads to cross-cultural communication issues and misunderstandings.

Any two of the three have to team up to rescue the third while trying to manage their feelings.

One of the trio gets blackmailed - perhaps with evidence of their pining - and tries to deal with the problem alone while agonizing over it all the while. (I could particularly see this being the sort of thing Illya would do.)

Wound tending, assisting with grooming like shaving or hair washing (for undercover work, or due to injury), and other close-quarters while pining tropes are definitely welcome.

Game of Thrones (TV)
Yara Greyjoy/Daenerys Targaryen

  • Character pines for someone they think is dead
  • Character pines for someone who is dead
  • Starcrossed Lovers
  • Physical Intimacy While Pining
  • A pines for B while B swears fealty to A
  • Pining while away at sea
  • Pining While Riding Behind Love Interest on a Horse/Motorcycle
  • Pining while sharing a bath
  • Pining while sparring
  • Pining while stuck in a time loop
  • Still-Pining Character Raises/Looks After Child of a Deceased Love Interest

I really like the idea of Yara pining for Dany and What Might Have been. I'm perfectly OK with Dany being dead and staying dead, but Yara's yearning spurring her to come up with ways to revive her, or creating some kind of canon divergence to save her are very excellent as well. I liked that they challenged one another and saw one another as equals, but also were able to let down their guard and crack a few flirty jokes with one another during their first meeting. They're both so intense, and while Yara often plays at humor and has a certain performative disdain for serious feelings, I love imagining her absolutely wrecked by Dany.

Any kind of canon divergence that has Yara as Dany's right hand woman or that plays on concepts of loyalty (heck yeah loyalty kink) and sworn oaths is very sexy.

Alternately, Yara as Dany's teacher in all things hand-to-hand combat leading to a lot of close physical proximity would be great. Either attending the other in a bath, perhaps when recovering from injury or magic bringing Dany back to life.

Note that for the "Still-Pining Character Raises/Looks After Child of a Deceased Love Interest" any kind of canon divergence where Dany does have a child is fine; the identity of the father can be anyone you like. Alternately, it could be Drogon. (Honestly, the idea of Yara pining for Dany while trying to "look after" Drogon would be really interesting, whatever that might mean!)

The Eagle | The Eagle of the Ninth (2011)
Marcus Flavius Aquila/Esca Mac Cunoval

  • A attributes B's flirting to cultural differences
  • Character expects to be hurt because their pining was revealed
  • Pined-for character reveals feelings to pining character while not quite lucid (hurt/drunk/etc.)
  • Pining character reveals their feelings while not quite lucid (hurt/drunk/etc.)
  • Pining while being shaved
  • Pining while having wounds tended
  • Pining while imprisoned
  • Pining While Riding Behind Love Interest on a Horse/Motorcycle
  • Pining while stranded in the wilderness
  • Pining while tending someone's wounds
  • Pining while trapped together
  • Pining while sharing a bath
  • Pining While Sleeping on Love Interest's Bed
Ah, these two. The whole movie is really just about their intense eye contact (or sometimes the significant lack thereof) and inexplicably all-encompassing willingness to do anything for the other and it's honestly a delight. I don't have a preference between a during-canon, post-canon, canon-divergent, or totally AU setting. I really like the notion of either or both of them being in intense circumstances (from pain or sickness or drink or drugs) and unwillingly admitting to Feelings. With the interaction of the power dynamic (even after Esca is no longer officially Marcus's slave) this could be really fascinating (and potentially terrifying) for them both. I also am always here for "well here we are, we're really physically close for totally normal and necessary reasons" while absolutely overcome with strong feelings and agonizing certainty they're not requited. (But they are, obvs.) To me this really fits with the way they kind of constantly dance between extreme softness for one another and anger right on the edge of violence.

Also totally here for the slightly comedic "cultural misunderstandings" trope. (Feel free to totally make shit up, I'm not expecting historical accuracy, here!)

  • sex (with reasonable consideration for the seriousness of the hurt!)

  • oral sex and manual stimulation, both as a precursor to vaginal or anal sex, and as its own thing

Dear Creator:

Thanks for checking out my letter! In general I am open to fic or art of any rating and with any AO3 content warning.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E (2015)

Illya Kuryakin/Napoleon Solo/Gaby Teller
Napoleon Solo/Gaby Teller

I really love my three favorite ridiculous spies as lovers and/or found family, saving the world from fascism and pulling each other out of trouble just as much as they drag each other into it. I'm also prompting the rarepair side of the trio in Napoleon/Gaby, because there's just so much less content for them than Illya/Napoleon and Illya/Gaby.

For the fandom in general:

Dubcon scenarios like sex pollen, bad guys make them do it, having to have sex to keep their cover with one another or others are always interesting and welcome, especially if it leads to major angst.

For the OT3:

Undercover antics - I love the notion of the three of them all doing a mission with different covers (that might know each other or not) and having to play a dynamic that either differs from the one they share or reinforces feelings they're trying to ignore. For example, on a future mission it's Napoleon and Gaby playing at being engaged or married, and Illya "realizes" they're perfect for one another and tries (miserably) to "back off" much to his partners' confusion.

Napoleon does his best to matchmake Illya and Gaby and catches extremely inconvenient feelings for them both.

As an UNCLE agent Gaby will be traveling outside of Germany for likely the first meaningful time in her life post-film; she's also significantly younger and less experienced than Illya and Napoleon per their end-of-film dossiers.

Any two of the three have to team up to rescue the third.

Outsider's POV from Waverly. Whether as his snarky, immediately post-canon self or as a more genial and tolerant boss down the line or somewhere in between, what's his impression of his very strange trio of spies? Why would he have made his move to keep them together after the chaos of Rome? What does he see in them? How does he feel about them growing closer, perhaps beyond what is particularly safe during the Cold War, or even just considering their line of work?

Wild AU premises: supernatural/magical realism, a world where magic is known and they all have it, or space opera/sci-fi settings all sound like fun.

One of the trio gets blackmailed - perhaps with evidence of their unconventional relationship, or even just their feelings - and tries to deal with the problem alone. (I could particularly see this being the sort of thing Illya would do.)

Post-retirement future fic - what might they get up to once they're too old to be in the field? What if injuries take one or more of them out of the game even earlier? What if they end up being pulled back to their respective agencies but only meet again by chance 10, 15, or 20 years post-movie?

For Gaby/Napoleon:

Illya/Napoleon and Illya/Gaby are the main ships of the fandom besides the trio, but I find Gaby/Napoleon really intriguing. I think they are very alike in some ways - Illya's "issues" are very much text in the film as Napoleon proverbially upends his baggage on the table at their first sit-down meeting - but Napoleon and Gaby are both messy characters, too.

A fic where they believe Illya to be dead, or he's somehow out of their reach (a prisoner, gravely injured, on a mission that they can't interfere in without huge risk) and they hook up out of grief or fear or even in anger would be interesting.

Either or both of them trying to seduce the other that first night in Berlin would be delightful.

Finally, as this fandom is a perennial request for me, you can peruse all of my previous letters for further prompts - all MUNCLE 2015 letters - in addition to what's prompted above.

The Witcher (TV)
Yennefer/Geralt

I love these goddamned star-crossed, bone headed, emotionally wrecked idiots and their love so much. I was admittedly dubious that the show would be able to hook me on their relationship considering that they only have two episodes together, really, but it was enough. Between the way they immediately were able to surprise and effectively snark one another under wild circumstances but also find some moments of real connection I was won over. (Yen took one look at that ass and decided what the life-and-death situation called for was tighter leather pants.) The by-turns furious and tender interaction in 1x06 and their parting doomed me utterly. I love that they're messy and often at cross purposes. I love that they call each other out on their shit constantly. I love that the matter of the djinn complicates their relationship and throws into question what is "real" about it. I really, really love that they did the whole battle couple thing, complete with mid-fight kiss, because that's a huge weakness of mine and it was extremely hot. I am intensely curious about where S2 will take them, and about whatever you might choose to create about them.

Some ideas:

Any kind of S2 speculation is welcome. I have not been following spoilers closely but I'm not bothered by them and I know they're out there - if you want to take filming spoilers and hints and shape them into a story about how Geralt (and Ciri!) meet up with Yennefer again, I am hungry for it! Alternately, fuck the spoilers and speculation and do your own thing.

Speaking of Ciri, I adore her and I am intensely curious as to how Yen will relate to her and to Ciri's relationship with Geralt, especially since Yen was so quick to point out Geralt's avoidance of the Child Surprise issue. And Ciri, too, seems curious about Yennefer, since something (her own magic, perhaps?) clued her in within literal seconds of meeting Geralt that Yennefer is someone important to him!

Maybe Geralt seeks out Yennefer to help him with Ciri's magical abilities, feeling out of his depth.

I am also eager to see a missing scene of some kind of adventure Geralt and Yennefer shared between 1x05 and 1x06. Maybe they teamed up to slay a monster, maybe they were competing for some kind of magical resource or bounty, or maybe they got involved in some messy court politics. Hell, maybe they both just showed up at one of Jaskier's concerts and were by turns being snippy and flirty all night over drinks before stumbling off to argue and/or bang in a broom closet! (Jaskier is sotired of their bullshit.)

Speaking of Jaskier, I am a fan and I am fine with Jaskier/Geralt being a thing as well, though I'd prefer the story didn't focus on rivalry or jealousy between Yennefer and Jaskier. (They can totally be snippy and somewhat adversarial with one another as per canon, I just don't want the story to revolve around a love triangle.)

If you're interested in writing porn, well. I do like to see Yennefer thoroughly topping the hell out of Geralt. My fondness for pegging might be relevant here as well, just saying! I also like them being very tender with one another as we saw in the tent scene in 1x06.

I would be very curious to see either of them taking care of the other, in any context.

I'm also open to all kinds of AUs for this fandom. A soulbond AU is almost bordering on canon, depending on how you interpret the djinn wish stuff, but feel free to dig into that more. I'm open to a modern AU if you really want to dig into some aspect of their relationship or the way in which they move in the world that doesn't need the magical, medieval setting.

Some kind of premise (a curse or spell?) that strips them both of their powers would be extremely interesting - anything that forces them to vulnerability around each other is A+.

"If I ever dreamed of being something other than I am, it was too long ago to remember." That line of Geralt's really gave me a gut punch - maybe, due to magic, he and Yennefer get an opportunity to experience that kind of alternate path? A curse or hallucination or the like that has them living together in domestic bliss, with a family, even, and what those versions of themselves might be like (and how they might realize the illusion is not real).

For the record I have not read the books and am only marginally familiar with the video games, but I know the major arcs and plot spoilers (why Nilfgaard is trying to capture Ciri, how the books end, etc) so if you want to incorporate any of that, feel free, just realize it might go over my head.

A Song of Ice and Fire - G.R.R.M.

Davos Seaworth/Stannis Baratheon
Rhaenys Targaryen/Robb Stark

I like both canon divergence and quirky AUs (fairy tale, space, western, werewolves, soulmates, Daemons/animal companions, etc) for these ships, but am less interested in modern "mundane" AUs with school/work settings. I love political machinations and arranged marriages (it's fine to handwave a Westeros with same-sex marriages for this purpose, and I love any kind of worldbuilding that might go along with that) and also the consequences of breaking a political arranged marriage in favor of a love match. Canon divergence where the ship is ruling Westeros as the ultimate power couple is as welcome as futures where they are on the run in Essos or fighting for a doomed cause.

Davos/Stannis:

Hello, Loyalty Kink! I love deeply flawed but noble and righteous Stannis inspiring loyalty in good right-hand-man Davos. I am always intrigued by how Davos came to be so devoted to his lord, either seeing it happen or getting in his head is always a treat. (His POV chapters are some of my favorite in the books.)

Once his maimed hand had healed, how did Davos manage to serve Stannis in their earliest years together? I personally lean toward Davos being a solid decade older than Stannis, so here's this 18 year old Stannis, half-starved from the siege and run ragged from trying to keep his men safe, and this upjumped smuggler who's canonically got to be at least 5 or 6 years older, if not likely more, who is just slotted into life as a lord and knight. What kinds of things did Davos learn from Stannis about how to move in lordly circles? What kinds of things did Stannis learn from Davos about life for a man from Flea Bottom? (Or about sex - pretty sure Davos was *much* more sexually experienced than Stannis at that time. I would not be surprised if Stannis was totally inexperienced at that point, in fact.)

Fantasy AU idea: Animal companions/Daemons. There are certain animals that are "highborn" and certain animals that just aren't, and whatever Davos has as an animal companion is considered very silly among the lordly set. But Stannis (and his stag/doe/other animal of your choice) become very defensive of Davos and his animal, whatever it is.

Rhaenys/Robb:

I have a lot of feelings about Rhaenys Targaryen, ngl. Obviously she died so young in canon that we don't know who she would have been, but I think it's so interesting to come up with ways in which she might have survived into the era of the books, and pairing her with Robb feels like an interesting extension and reversal of some of the Lyanna/Rhaegar "legend" story beats. At the same time, I've come to be very fond of Robb through rereads of Cat's POV chapters. I want them to be good for each other!

While many presume that the boy claiming to be Prince Aegon is a fake, what if Varys was able to successfully spirit little Rhaenys out of King's Landing, and it's Rhaenys who leads the Golden Company in an invasion of Westeros in the wake of Robert's death circa A Game of Thrones? Perhaps, despite history, she might be inclined to allow the Northern Rebels to be her allies.

Alternately, Robert's Rebellion fails, but Aerys is prevented from taking total revenge on the rebels by Rhaegar - how might a Princess Rhaenys react to realizing she's fallen for the son of one of the leaders of the great rebellion against her family? (The role of Lyanna and R+L=J in this is totally up to you.)

Dear Creator:

Bless your heart - may it make it through the next two weeks safely! Considering the challenge ahead, I want to make clear that I am extremely flexible regarding the gift you might choose to create, with extremely minimal fandom-specific DNWs listed for each fandom below. Beyond avoiding those, while I hope my prompts and big list of likes inspires you, please feel free to create...from your heart. *ba-dum-tiss*

I'm opting into art as well for any of these prompts.

You'll probably note two things about my letter if you read all the way through. One is that all my requests include Henry Cavill characters. (I have no excuse or explanation for this.) The other is that I have the most prompts for MUNCLE 2015, fewer for The Witcher, and fewer still for Enola Holmes. This is not an indication of my excitement or desire to receive fic in any particular fandom, just the length of time I've been in the fandom and/or requesting it in exchanges.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E (2015)
Illya Kuryakin/Napoleon Solo/Gaby Teller

I really love my three favorite ridiculous spies as lovers and/or found family, saving the world from fascism and pulling each other out of trouble just as much as they drag each other into it.

Any two of the three have to team up to rescue the third. (Doing a "three times" variation of this including scenarios where each pair has to save the third would be fun.)

Napoleon being extremely blasé about sex-for-the-job (even when it's only marginally consensual) in ways that unsettle his partners is a favorite trope of mine. (His slightly-strained insistence that he tried exhausting Victoria, presumably via marathon sex, in the film and his "womanizer" diagnosis hints at a lot that I'm curious about.)

Finally, as this fandom is a perennial request for me, you can peruse all of my previous letters for further prompts - all MUNCLE 2015 letters - in addition to what's prompted above. There are some Napoleon/Gaby and Illya/Gaby and Napoleon/Illya prompts among them - feel free to adapt them but I only want OT3 content for this particular exchange.

Fandom specific DNW: Modern Mundane AUs.

The Witcher (TV)
Yennefer/Geralt

A "five times" fic exploring various moments in which Geralt and Yen met up and did X - fight, fuck, argue, play the hero, play the villain, etc - would be a lot of fun!

DNW: Permanent major character death. (Temporary death or thinking someone's dead for a time is fine). Total downer endings.

Enola Holmes (2020)
Enola Holmes & Sherlock Holmes
Enola Holmes/Viscount "Tewky" Tewksbury

I'm not going to lie: I initially watched this film mostly to see how Millie Bobbie Brown would take on another I'm Not Like Other Girls role, and to appreciate Henry Cavill's curls. I ended up finding it really charming and fun, and I really hope Netflix turns it into a film series. (Honestly, I think it would have been even better as a miniseries or short series, but I understand just about everyone in it is busy with other projects.) I liked how it centered Enola's relationship with her mother, but also complicated her distant admiration for her brother's sleuthing with the realization that Sherlock, for all his skills and talents, wasn't at all sure how to deal with her. I also really enjoyed Tewky as a character and how he plays with some of the YA romance object tropes in his interactions with Enola.

Note that I haven't read the books that the film is based off of, but feel free to use some of that canon if it pleases you, I'm not worried about spoilers.

For Enola & Sherlock:

Both Enola and Sherlock continue to look into their mother's mysterious work, and keep running into one another throughout their investigations, to mixed feelings. It seems clear from the film that Eudoria is involved in suffrage movement activism that may very well turn violent - and I suspect that even as proud and fond of his sister as Sherlock is, he would not be particularly supportive of those kinds of actions. (Though, maybe he'd surprise me, I don't know!) Perhaps Enola (learning more about the Cause from Edith) and Sherlock debate about the issue and Enola tries to win him over to supporting their mother's work.

Does this Sherlock have a Watson? What's their relationship like, and how might Enola come to meet them or feel about them if they were to team up to help Sherlock at any point? (Ambiguous pronoun used on purpose, feel free to play fast and loose with the character of Dr. Watson however you like. I'm not invested in any particular variation of a Sherlock/Watson ship but if you're pulled in that direction go for it!).

Potentially riffing off the above prompt - ACD Holmes canonically had a cocaine addiction that Watson helped him overcome. (Obviously various adaptations have played with this more directly, like in Elementary.) Maybe Enola finds out that her Gifted older brother has some demons of his own?

Slice of life stuff is good, too - Sherlock attempting to convince Enola to live with him as his ward more formally (I expect she's not interested, though perhaps tempted, but it would be intriguing to see that discussion), Sherlock and Enola running into one another in an unexpected context, Sherlock and Enola competing for a particular case to the former's consternation and amusement and the latter's increasing determination.

For Enola/Tewky:

As of the film's end, it seems like Enola is very much trying to stay a step ahead of her brothers, but she does choose to meet up with Tewky and his mother and uncle, even if only briefly. Might she find herself drawn to them in some ways as a replacement family, considering her feelings of responsibility for Tewky's well-being?

Despite taking his place in the House of Lords, Tewky might be wistful for his short period of freedom again in the future - perhaps he ducks out of his responsibilities as Viscount at some point and returns to London, eager to seek out Enola again and maybe even help her with a case.

In order to gain access to high society event to solve a case, Enola leans on her connection to Tewky in one of her disguises - perhaps posing as a cousin, a ward of the family, or even his fiancée. (Whether the cousin or ward disguises are as a woman or a man is up to you, I love her penchant for stealing boys' clothes.) Oops, but he's at the same event - does he play along, or make her life a little difficult?

DNW: Incest. Mycroft featuring as the Big Bad Villain in the fic. (He can appear and be his unpleasant self, but I don't want him to be the major antagonist of the story.) Permanent major character death. (Temporary death or thinking someone's dead for a time is fine). Total downer endings.

Hurt/Comfort & Whump favorites (note that the "comfort" can be sexual, romantic, or platonic)

The thing I really like the most about h/c and whump is the intimacy of it all.

  • sex (with reasonable consideration for the seriousness of the hurt!)

  • oral sex and manual stimulation, both as a precursor to vaginal or anal sex, and as its own thing
coaldustcanary: Eleanor of Aquitane from The Lion In Winter (Default)
 Hi there,

Thanks for checking out my letter. This is my first year participating in Holly Poly, though I have several OT3s both in my currently active fandoms and in longstanding fandoms of my heart.

General Preferences: I am overall open to receiving fic or art of any rating, including violent or sexually explicit content. I am OK with any AO3 required warning if appropriate to the fic or art.

Prompts for each of my ships below. Note that some prompts are re-purposed from past signups, especially for some of my perennial requests. Even if I've received fic based on those prompts before, repeating it here definitely means I still want more content based on those prompts!

At the end of the letter is a big list of prompted likes and preferences - do feel free to ignore my fandom-specific prompts and dive into one of those likes if it gives you any ideas.

Fandoms in alphabetical order:

Ladyhawke (1985)
Etienne Navarre/Isabeau d'Anjou/Philippe Gaston

What happens after the film? I don't buy that Philippe goes off on his own with Imperius and leaves the Great Lovers to their reunion...at least not permanently. I really like the idea that Navarre and Isabeau realize something is missing after a time relishing their freedom from the curse, and seek out their most loyal of friends eventually.

The three of them spending a winter together, or huddling up against miserable weather, is also very charming for either fic or art.

DNW: modern setting (more explicit fantasy setting or magic besides the curse - like soulmates or the like - is fine)

The Man from U.N.C.L.E (2015)
Gaby Teller/Illya Kuryakin/Napoleon Solo

My primary fandom home these days is MUNCLE movie fandom, and I never tire of these three getting together and figuring out their professional and personal partnerships all at once. Mission fic is great, but so is slice-of-life downtime off the job - maybe something set around a winter holiday like New Year's Day, or Solo conning his partners into appreciation of a "Western" Christmas tradition.

Huddling for warmth/only one bed/staving off hypothermia/snowed in stuff is my catnip. Declarations of feelings due to serious injury or hurt/comfort scenarios, too.

I am open to lots of ways for them to be a trio, but I'm particularly fond of Napoleon Solo, "womanizing" self-absorbed criminal, selflessly trying to avoid getting in the way of Gaby and Illya's relationship despite his feelings for both of them (because as much as he appreciates himself, he doesn't think he'd be any good for them, and besides, they don't feel that way about him) or even trying to set them up and failing miserably. Because they both want him, too.

DNW: non-spy AU. (though canon divergence where they end up retiring together or casefic where they're undercover doing something else is fine! also adding magic or making the setting weirder a la magical realism is good, I just want them to be 60s cold war spies, too.)

(You can see all of my past letters requesting this fandom under the tag MUNCLE 2015, feel free to go with anything.)

Motherland: Fort Salem (TV)
Sarah Alder/Biddies
Anacostia Quartermaine/Petra Bellweather/Sarah Alder

For Alder/Biddies: what is the general's relationship like with them? How intimate must it be for her very life to be sustained by their sacrifice! How do they perform magic together? What does it feel like, and how does it connect them?

For Anacostia/Petra/Alder, I'm thinking power-play magic involving intense rituals - maybe sex, too? Perhaps the most advanced battle magics require deep intimacy, or at least performing it, whether or not there are emotions involved.

DNW: No Magic AU.

Once Upon a Time (TV)
Captain Hook | Killian Jones/Emma Swan/Milah

I remain really, really mad about what happened to Milah. It was extremely unfair. What might have happened if she'd returned from the Underworld with Killian and Emma? (Like, besides kicking Rumple's ass six ways from Sunday.)

Alternately, an Enchanted Forest AU where princess Emma ends up in a relationship with a pair of dastardly pirates would be fantastic!

DNW: Modern AU.

Valdemar Series - Mercedes Lackey
Dirk/Kris/Talia (Valdemar)

Feel free to go canon divergence with this--somehow the three of them get together prior to Talia and Kris's ill-fated journey to Hardorn somehow. Maybe Dirk wasn't off mentoring Skif and got sent their way while Talia and Kris were on circuit and the separate complicated things between Talia and Kris and Talia and Dirk get pulled into the light abruptly.

Alternately, fix-it: Kris doesn't die, Dirk somehow Fetches both Kris and Talia back from Hardorn, and then pulls a noble sacrifice because he wants to leave his Best Friend and Epic Crush to their perfect love, not realizing the relationship is much more complicated than that (and they need him, too).

DNW: Modern AU.

The Witcher (TV)
Geralt of Rivia/Jaskier/Yennefer of Vengerberg (Witcher TV)

At some point post-S1, Ciri has a Mom and Two Dads who somehow get over their interpersonal strife for her sake. (Honestly, an outsider's perspective from Ciri would be great.)

I am always game for fic where Yennefer and Jaskier team up to lovingly top the hell out of Geralt because someone needs to take care of the big idiot so the other two bury the hatchet to see that it gets done.

Alternately, Geralt is confused, scared, and a liiiitle aroused when Jaskier and Yennefer end up teaming up without him for some reason.

DNW: None (This is the fandom I am open to Modern AUs for if you're interested.)

Thanks for checking out my letter.

Overview: I welcome works of any rating, with any AO3 content warning. I do not have general DNWs, but for some fandoms I have some specific preferences, detailed below. At the end of the letter is my Big List Of Stuff I Like--feel free to take your inspiration from that rather than the fandom-specific prompts.

Additionally, I really love all things Halloween/Autumn. The changing of the seasons, the harvest, spooky stuff, supernatural, magic, and monsters. Feel free to embrace the season in any response to my prompts!

I'm opting in to the Battle of the Bands challenge, and while I've requested 3 specific songs, go ahead and feel free to draw on whatever music inspires you from the tagset.

FANDOM: Africa - Toto (Song)

Last year I prompted this song and received two great fics riffing off the viral twitter post that suggested the song lyrics reference a lovesick werewolf. (Link here: https://twitter.com/hradzka/status/954767458769883136)

Feel free to take whatever inspiration in word or art you might from this song, however! The werewolf angle is delightful, but so would be a more general love story (what's the "a lot" that could "take me away from you"?), or something about magic (Why are we blessing the rains down in Africa?)

FANDOM: Work Song - Hozier (Music Video)

I love Hozier generally and this song is one of my favorites. I'm game for a take on the lyrics directly (themes of death and rebirth, redemption, whump or hurt/comfort, pining all suggest themselves rather strongly-like, that's good shit!) or the video's visuals of deeply intimate, incredibly hot dancing. (The redheaded dancer biting their partner's jaw at about 0.58 always makes me feel Some Kind Of Way when I watch the video, whew.)

FANDOM: Werewolves of London - Warren Zevon (Song)

I love Werewolves, and I tend to prefer them as a mix of urbane and feral, just like this song plays with. It's always been a favorite of mine, it's fun and playful, and art or fic about a man-about-town werewolf would be an utter blast.

FANDOM: The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (2015)
Characters: Napoleon Solo (MUNCLE 2015) Illya Kuryakin (MUNCLE 2015) Gaby Teller (MUNCLE 2015) Alexander Waverly (MUNCLE 2015)

DNW: Modern AU (Fantasy, magic, or other setting AUs are fine, but not "generic modern era", please.)

I love my disaster bisexual spies and their snarky boss. I ship Napoleon/Illya/Gaby primarily, as well as every pairing subset of the OT3, and I also ship each of them with Waverly, if you're interested. I would also absolutely be game for fic focused on any one of them or gen team fic!

Treat fodder: Solo cooking for the others, Illya offering his couture opinions on Napoleon's suits and/or Gaby's outfits, Gaby enjoying her freedom and ability to travel outside of East Berlin, Waverly pulling his team's fat out of the fryer in the nick of time. All of them as werewolves, or vampires, or magic users, or mix and match! (I received some fun little fics in this vein last year that I loved, but I'm always game for more.)

Trick fodder: A mission gone wrong (I love whump, torture, and hurt/comfort), the team separated or enemies due to circumstances beyond their control, an uncomfortable undercover situation (maybe they have to fight or even pretend to betray one another), making hard decisions that result in losses (perhaps necessary, but hard).

FANDOM: The Witcher (TV)
Characters: Triss Merigold (The Witcher TV), Yennefer of Vengerberg (The Witcher TV), Jaskier (The Witcher TV), Geralt of Rivia (The Witcher TV), Renfri (The Witcher TV), Ciri (The Witcher TV)

I really enjoyed this show, far more than I expected, and I'm looking forward to S2. I'm not familiar with the books or game, but if you want to incorporate worldbuilding or plot for them (I'm fairly thoroughly spoiled for major plot points) go ahead!

I ship...well, pretty much anything and everything. Triss/Yennefer, Geralt/Yennefer, Geralt/Jaskier, Geralt/Yennefer/Jaskier, Geralt/Renfri. Ciri & Geralt, and Ciri & Any Other Solid Parental or Fun Uncle or Vodka Aunt figure.

In the spirit of the season, something focusing on a harvest festival would be fun - as would particularly spooky or undead monsters. Post-S1 speculation is always welcome for any character. Character studies, slice of life, or moments of levity or despair.

Triss: What's her relationship with other sorceresses like? What does she do after Sodden Hill?

Yennefer: Treat - As a change of pace, Yen is happy about something, perhaps surprised by a simple pleasure. Trick - Yen considers her own mortality, or wrestles with jealousy.

Jaskier: Treat - A young Jaskier makes his name as a bard writing about Geralt - how does that change his fortunes or experiences? Trick - As always, the argument in ep 6 leaves a lot of room for exploring the angst of a troubled relationship with Geralt, and maybe some regrets on his part.

Geralt: Treat - Reluctantly enjoying doing something fun with Ciri. (Dad!Geralt having a heart of solid marshmallow for his child surprise.) Trick - Geralt is haunted (literally or metaphorically, your call) by an old decision.

Renfri: AU where she gets to murder Stregobor, or becomes a different sort of power than the one prophesized for her.

Ciri: Getting to be a child again for 5 seconds. Meeting any of Geralt's friends for the first time and latching on to a weird found family.

FANDOM: The Old Guard (Movie 2020)

Characters: Booker | Sebastien le Livre (TOG 2020) Nile Freeman (TOG 2020)

Somehow I came out of this film loving all the characters but most in love with tired-of-life sadsack Booker and queen of everything Nile more than the rest. I feel like as the youngest immortals, both dogged by feelings about their families that the others don't seem to have, they share something. I found it absolutely intriguing that Nile was most ready to forgive Booker for his betrayal.

Honestly, this is a new enough fandom for me that I'm not sure exactly what I want out of fic for them, only that I want it! Anything exploring Booker's history, his post-canon exile, or canon divergence that lets him stay with the team and make amends differently is good. For Nile, adjusting to immortality, or following through and making contact with her family, or trying to test her own limits would be interesting.

  • first time sex - both first time sex ever or first time performing a particular sex act for a character if there's a reasonable characterization of said character as inexperienced, and also first time sex with a particular partner - I tend to prefer getting together over established relationship unless otherwise requested
  • sex as an emotional outlet in the wake of tragedy or grief - friends grieving the loss of a mutual friend or loved one or getting over a shared bad experience
  • Dominance/submission (if it's f/m I generally prefer the female character be dominant unless otherwise requested)
  • sex between platonic friends
  • competence kink
  • threesomes
  • loyalty kink

Thanks for checking out my letter.

Overview: I welcome works of any rating, with any AO3 content warning. I do not have blanket DNWs, but for some fandoms I have some specific preferences, detailed below.

Fandoms:

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (2015)
  • Illya Kuryakin/Napoleon Solo/Gaby Teller (Man From UNCLE 2015)
  • Napoleon Solo/Gaby Teller (Man From UNCLE 2015)
DNW: Modern AU (No need for excruciating attention to 1960s detail, but I like the Cold War setting. Handwave fun spy gadget tech to your heart's content.)

I've nominated both my OT3 for this fandom as well as the "points" of the usual fandom relationship triangle. I love this film, I love the characters, and all told I the threesome is truly my favorite of the ships but I ship all pairing subsets.

For the OT3 I never, ever tire of whatever I can get of them. Some thematic suggestions:
  • Slice of life between-mission downtime around a fall holiday (enjoying Oktoberfest in Bavaria to Gaby's delight (or perhaps mixed feelings, given politics and circumstances), Solo cooking up Thanksgiving dinner for his dubious and/or critical partners)
  • Spooky casefic involving mad scientists or "monsters"
  • AUs where one or all of the trio isn't entirely human (werewolves are a favorite, but vampires, witches, psychics, etc are all good)
  • Trapped by weather/huddling for warmth tropefest
For the Gaby/Napoleon ship specifically:
  • Illya is killed/recalled to Russia/sent to prison and they hook up in his absence. Really, I am just craving some angsty, angry sex between these two, whether it's because Illya's gone and the other 2/3 of what was a trio miss him, or they were both pining and missed their chance before Illya was suddenly gone, or one had a relationship and the other didn't, whatever. I really think they're both attracted to Illya and they're actually a bit alike; I also think they'd be a total mess as a pair, and I'm curious as to what form it would take. (This prompt could also be tied into an OT3 fic if they go rescue him afterwards, find out he's not dead in the first place, or he somehow comes back to life...)
  • AU(?) where they hook up that first night in the Berlin "not-chic" apartment under instruction from their respective handlers.

The Old Guard (Movie 2020)
  • Booker | Sebastien le Livre/Nile Freeman (Old Guard 2020)
  • Booker | Sebastien le Livre & Nile Freeman (Old Guard 2020)
DNW: No powers/non-immortal AU.

I came out of the film wanting more of these two interacting in whatever form it might take. Booker is such a goddamn sadsack, and Nile is all at once probably the most sympathetic to Booker's particular form of angst (wanting to forgive him with a heartfelt apology, still feeling the loss of his human family) and the least tolerant of his shit, all at once since they're not family, not yet. I am not familiar with the comics the films are based on but I'm unbothered by spoilers if you want to use any of it. Prompts:
  • Nile pragmatically wants to learn as much as she can about the experiences of the other immortals and is unwilling to be deprived of Booker's experience, despite what the others agreed, so she seeks him out on her own time with pointed questions.
  • Something happens to Andy, Joe, and/or Nicky and Nile needs Booker's help.
  • Nile seeks out her family and afterwards she needs to confront Booker about his critical advice on the subject. (Whether it goes well, terribly, or something else for Nile is up to you.)
  • Epistolary: Nile and Booker communicate regularly via email or text message. (Joe, Nicky and Andy pretend not to notice.) Bonding (and/or sexting) ensues.

The Witcher (TV)
  • Geralt/Jaskier/Yennefer (Witcher TV)
  • Geralt z Rivii | Geralt of Rivia/Renfri | Shrike (Witcher TV)
  • Geralt of Rivia/Yennefer of Vengerberg (Witcher TV)
  • Geralt of Rivia/Jaskier (Witcher TV)
DNW: Modern and/or No Powers AU.

Seasonal spooky or harvest festival-themed is a plus but not necessary, here. Any adventures happening at a fair or in a haunted castle or an unsettling cornfield or the like is great. I'm not familiar with the books or video game, but I am spoiled for most major plot points so feel free to borrow from either canon as needed.

For Geralt/Jaskier/Yennefer:
  • Any two of the three care for the third - not necessarily in a soppy way, because Geralt would still be gruff, Yen would still be brusque, and Jaskier would still be flaky - but they care for one another nonetheless.
  • Geralt and Yennefer team up to top and/or dom the hell out of Geralt.
  • "Ciri has a mom and two dads" family bonding.
For Geralt/Renfri:
  • AU where Renfri survives Blaviken and transfers her desire for vengeance to Geralt. It's complicated. (They still hook up from time to time.)
  • Renfri's ghost haunts Geralt. (More literally than the canon figurative haunting.)

For Geralt/Yennefer:
  • Yennefer pegs an initially-dubious but eventually very keen Geralt.
  • They're trapped together in some kind of cursed location until they work out (fuck out?) some of their relationship drama.
  • They go from arguing to Battle Couple, to the consternation of their enemies.
  • Geralt has to answer Ciri's question about Yennefer at the end of 1.8 - it's complicated.

For Geralt/Jaskier:
  • Jaskier is possessed and Geralt has to convince the entity in the bard to leave.
  • Geralt his seriously injured past the ability of his powers and potions to heal and Jaskier has to take care of him.
  • Post 1.6 the two of them are coincidentally stuck somewhere together and have to sort out their shit.
  • Jaskier is the top-billed entertainment at a prosperous town's harvest festival and Geralt tries to just be part of the regular audience instead of That Witcher. (It goes about as well as you'd expect.)

General Likes and Preferences

Setting tropes and AU premises I Love:

  • werewolves and other were-creatures/animal shapeshifters - tying into magical AUs, I like "everyone's a werewolf" or some kind of magical critter AUs, or just one particular character being "other"
  • sharing a bed (sexual, romantic, or platonic) - enforced intimacy!
  • huddling for warmth - more enforced intimacy!
  • trapped in a cabin in a blizzard - are you seeing the trend about enforced intimacy?!
  • Hurt/Comfort - see the whole section on this trope below
Hurt/Comfort & Whump Favorites (note that the "comfort" can be sexual, romantic, or platonic)

The thing I really like the most about h/c and whump is the intimacy of it all. The deeply intimate nature of caring for another person in h/c, and/or the headspace/emotional rollercoaster of pain the whumped character goes through are absolutely my personal catnip.

Hurt and Whump Preferences:
  • torture - I'm generally interested in the emotions and sensory elements more than the gore here. Torture that leads to chronic injury/pain, mild-to-moderate debilitation over time or permanently, or psychological trauma are the sorts of things I want to see for this kind of hurt.
  • characters forced to watch others being hurt
Comfort Preferences:
  • hair touching/running fingers through hair
  • helping others with personal care - hair washing, injury tending, etc
  • small acts of intimacy/care - preparing food, standing guard while the hurt one sleeps, etc
  • sex (with reasonable consideration for the seriousness of the hurt!)
Sex tropes I Love:
  • dubcon - specifically in situations when both/all parties are consenting under duress due to outside forces, such as "sex pollen", "bad guys made them do it", or character(s) consenting to spare another character from having to do so. This can lead to a positive outcome - admitting feelings, strengthening a relationship after such a difficult experience - or a negative outcome - angst, the end of a relationship/partnership, tragedy - or something ambiguous.
  • bondage - particularly of stoic or restrained characters getting tied up and absolutely wrecked
  • first time sex - both first time sex ever or first time performing a particular sex act for a character if there's a reasonable characterization of said character as inexperienced, and also first time sex with a particular partner - I tend to prefer getting together over established relationship unless otherwise requested

Overview: I welcome fanworks of all ratings, with any warning. I enjoy fics with sexual content for romantic or sexual pairings, but it's not necessary. My only blanket DNW is: No Modern AUs and No "No Magic" AUs (for fandoms with canonical magic). Below the fandom-specific prompts you'll find a list of my general likes. Feel free to ignore any of the prompts and latch onto any of my general trope, AU, hurt/comfort, or sex likes if they spark your creativity.

In addition to fanfic and fanart of any kind, I'm interest in in-universe documents. I give some examples of in-universe documents that strike me as good fits for each fandom, but please feel free to think outside of those boxes if you are so inspired!

Game of Thrones (TV)
Jaime Lannister/Brienne of Tarth (GoT)

Length Opt-In: Any Nominated Opt-In
Medium Opt-In: Any In-Universe Documents That Fit the Canon Setting
Medium Opt-In: Fanart

My forever OTP since I first read A Storm of Swords nearly 20 years ago. Show-version Jaime and Brienne are different than the books, obviously, but there was a lot that was wonderfully satisfying about their relationship on screen. Jaime knighting Brienne and the consummation of their relationship was wonderful and everything I could have hoped for...but everything that happened after that was less so.

Prompts:
FIX IT. Give me the canon divergence that makes Jaime's sad-sack "yeah guess I'm just that terrible and I have to go die with Cersei, peace out" end disappear. I'm game for pain, I'm game for hard-earned happy endings, I'm game for Jaime and Brienne not even living happily ever after, but I want something more satisfying than the show provided, please. Alternately, they get a happy ending of sorts, but some new threat comes along (maybe 10 years down the line while they're wrangling a couple kids) and they have to pick up their swords and armor once more.

In-universe AUs. Stuff like Soulmates, role reversal, gender swap, arranged marriage, etc, are always interesting!

I'm also open to creative fic formats. Epistolary would work well for them given an AU where Jaime flees Westeros, with or without Cersei. (I have no problem with Jaime/Cersei featuring in any gift.)

Alternately, a History of Ser Brienne of Tarth, the First Female Knight of Westeros (with as many "inconsistencies" or "artistic license" moments as you like) written by a Maester generations later in the vein of Fire & Blood would be fascinating.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (2015)
Illya Kuryakin/Napoleon Solo/Gaby Teller (MUNCLE 2015)

Length Opt-In: Any Nominated Opt-In
Medium Opt-In: Any In-Universe Documents That Fit the Canon Setting
Medium Opt-In: Fanart

My perfect threesome of messy bisexual spies - I think the quote on a gifset of the three of them I saw recently perfectly sums up my feelings: "If two wrongs don't make a right, try three." [
LINK] Individually they are disasters, together they somehow function enough to save each other and the day.

Prompts:
Getting together while saving the world - whether it's the end-of-the-movie teased Istanbul affair or another future mission, let them figure out their feelings and get together while kicking the ass of fascists. Hurt/comfort, enforced intimacy while on the mission, and other tropey nonsense a plus!

Also welcome - if you'd prefer to do several shorter fics vs a long one, glimpses of each individual relationship (Gaby and Illya, Illya and Napoleon, Napoleon and Gaby) would also be interesting! Maybe "times the other two had to save the third" or "times the other two had to go undercover together", etc. Outsider's POV - Waverly, Sanders, Oleg, or another UNCLE agent - would also be interesting!

I'm game for ALL of the in-universe content for this fandom - things like mission reports, debriefings, transcripts of interviews, etc. The same mission from three different POVs would be interesting! Feel free, if you're familiar with the TV show canon, to use elements of that worldbuilding if you like - UNCLE headquarters in New York, the notion that the bad guy fascists are an organization called THRUSH, that sort of thing, but also feel free to make up your own!

As this fandom is a perennial request for me, you can also check out my past letters for prompts - I'm game for anything with them.

Motherland: Fort Salem (TV)
Abigail Bellweather & Petra Bellweather (Motherland: Fort Salem)
Abigail Bellweather & Raelle Collar & Tally Craven (Motherland: Fort Salem)
Anacostia Quartermaine/Berryessa Tansey (Motherland: Fort Salem)
Solo: Sarah Alder (Motherland: Fort Salem)

Length Opt-In: Any Nominated Opt-In
Medium Opt-In: Any In-Universe Documents That Fit the Canon Setting
Medium Opt-In: Fanart

I love the wild worldbuilding of this show, and all of the interesting, complicated protagonists. For romantic relationships I am primarily interested in the older characters - Anacostia/Sgt. Tansey, and Sarah Alder/Any non-student - but I'm fine with any romantic ships among the younger protagonists, canon or not, being in the background of any fic.

Prompts:
For the Bellweather Unit trio, how will they come back together post S1 after the events of the finale? How deeply has their faith in the military generally and Alder specifically been shaken? What if they teamed up with Petra to try to double down on the coup attempt against Alder somehow? What if they work with Anacostia to infiltrate the Spree? Alternately, have each of the three learn about the others' backgrounds and very different experiences. Maybe they travel to the Cession, or Tally's mother's commune, in addition to the High Atlantic culture we saw in the wedding episode.

For Abigail & Petra, what was Abigail's experience as a young debutante of the High Atlantic witches like? What does it mean to be of powerful lineage in terms of expectations and politics?

For Anacostia/Sgt. Tansey I *loved* their conversation reminiscing about past Beltanes. What were they like when they were younger? Did they maybe hook up at Beltane just for the ritual, or was there real feeling there?

For Sarah Alder, literally anything at any point in history that you want to explore is fair game. What does leadership really mean for Sarah Alder? She strikes me as a complex, gray character who makes what she thinks are good choices for all, but that may only be good choices for her and her power. How did the first Biddies come to sacrifice themselves for her? How did she choose the first soldiers to serve with her, like Abigail's Bellweather ancestor? How did other nations besides the US develop their own witch militaries, and what relationships does she have with leaders, witch and non-witch, military and civilian, in other places? (Characters to ship with Alder, if you're interested - Petra Bellweather, Anacostia Quartermaine, or President Wade. Any non-student character is fine if you're so moved!)

As far as in-universe documents are concerned, I like the idea of alternate history documentation - anything from a history report written by a Fort Salem cadet to an academic article focusing on Alder, military culture, witch culture, witch family lineage, or anything else that would flesh out the setting.

The Witcher (TV)
Geralt/Jaskier/Yennefer (Witcher TV)

Length Opt-In: Any Nominated Opt-In
Medium Opt-In: Any In-Universe Documents That Fit the Canon Setting
Medium Opt-In: Fanart

I really enjoyed this show and I am very fond of the strong relationships that Geralt has with both Jaskier and Yennefer. We really saw the relationship with Jaskier develop into something deep despite their harsh parting in episode 6; at the same time we didn't get to see as much of the relationship with Yennefer develop, but I was totally sold on their connection to one another in that same episode - Geralt's ease and Yen's honesty said a lot.

(I am only marginally familiar with the video game series and not at all with the books directly, though I've picked up a bit by osmosis. I am spoiled for various book-canon plot points with regard to Ciri's connection to Nilfgard, etc, so feel free to incorporate such canon if you like, but also sticking totally to TV canon is great.)

I would really like Jaskier and Yennefer to dial down the sniping and realize that they really could be one another's favorite kind of bitch. (And then mutually, lovingly top the hell out of Geralt, ahem.) I'm also open to works focusing on a V-shaped relationship, where Jaskier and Yen both have a relationship with Geralt but aren't romantically attached. (Honestly, that...feels like canon to me, really.)

Prompts:
Post S1, Jaskier and Yennefer run into one another before either one sees Geralt again under whatever circumstances you can imagine. Maybe they help each other get ahead of some angry Nilfgardians, or recognize one another while trying to lay low, and they grudgingly team up, and decide to stay that way until they can find Geralt and his Child Surprise. (I quite like Ciri and she can feature heavily if you choose!)

Canon divergence with a comic edge: Yennefer finds out about "Her Sweet Kiss" sometime before the events of episode 6...and takes it as a compliment. So much so that she seeks out Jaskier to write more songs about her. Geralt is Confused and Concerned.

Feel free to play with the notion of a single event told from different perspectives (Geralt, Yen, and Jaskier - and maybe Ciri, too?) or Ciri's outsider POV on the three of them (she's very clever and I would be intrigued to see how she sizes up both Yen and Jaskier).

As for in-universe documentation, go wild. Annotations of Jaskier's song lyrics, parodies of Jaskier's songs, or academic treatises/research on Witcher magic, culture, or the like all strike me as interesting ideas!

Hi FFFX Author or Artist:

Thanks for taking a look at my letter! I hope these prompts inspire you, if you're so inclined. Alternately, check out my big list of beloved tropes at the end of the letter if you want to take things in a different direction. As a rule, I have no hard content-related DNWs (though I have setting-related DNWs for each fandom, below), and I welcome works of all ratings and with any warning, as appropriate. I very much enjoy and appreciate explicit sexual content in romantic/sexual relationship fics, but it's not necessary.

Fandoms

Ladyhawke (1985)
Group: Etienne Navarre/Isabeau d'Anjou/Philippe Gaston (Ladyhawke)

What I like about this canon/fandom:
I unironically love every silly minute of this film and the totally 80s soundtrack. The story of star-crossed lovers helped in their quest to defeat the curse hanging over their heads by the most unlikely of thieves is charming, and the notion that the lovers grew as fond of their friend as one another, in the end, makes me very happy.

Prompts:

The Turnabout:
Post-film, Philippe goes his own way, perhaps promising to visit Navarre and Isabeau in the future, but not wanting to be in the way of the reunited lovers. Unfortunately, Philippe gets caught up in his own unfortunate circumstances - perhaps something magic-infused, perhaps a curse turning him into a *literal* mouse to match his nickname. Navarre and Isabeau might be the only ones who can help him, or who would believe his story at all.

The Right Kind of Help: A three-way soulmate AU. In the film it's Philippe's clever mix of half truths and inspiration that keep Isabeau and Navarre from losing heart in their quest. It seems like they have been cursed for years and not making much headway in trying to break the curse, even though Navarre is sure he knows how. Maybe that's because they specifically needed Philippe as their missing "piece" as their soulmate just as much as they are each other's, and they realize that along the way. How might that have changed the way things played out?

DNW: Modern AU. Keep the fantasy-medieval setting please!

The Man From U.N.C.L.E (2015)
Group: Illya Kuryakin/Napoleon Solo/Gaby Teller (The Man From U.N.C.L.E 2015)

What I like about this canon/fandom: While I feel passionately that this film was utterly robbed of a sequel, it's two hours of beautifully shot, fast-paced fun with snappy dialogue that slaps a few classic tropes - fake engaged, enemies teaming up as reluctant partners against a common enemy, competitive one-upsmanship, spy-vs-spy shenanigans - on top of a trio of spies who veer wildly between highly competent and utterly useless and can't stop snarking at and saving one another.  And just when these three idiots heave a sigh of relief at the end of the film, knowing that these awkward feelings for one another that have been growing over the past few days of fighting fascists can finally be put aside once they go their separate ways, they find out they're working together for the indefinite future because Alexander Waverly is a genius and a troll. I'm always asking what happens next for these three.

Prompts:
The casefic get-together: I want to see them negotiating their professional and the personal relationships at the same time against the backdrop of spy games of any kind. They're all "I work best alone" types, but now they're partners - how do they manage it? Deepening bonds via any of my preferred situational tropes or hurt/comfort scenarios would be great.

The duo to a trio: The film obviously sets up the Illya/Gaby several almost-kisses as blooming sexual tension, while Napoleon seems highly amused by their budding romance. A story in which Napoleon is somewhere between a matchmaker and a meddling thorn in their side while trying to ignore his own growing feelings for the other two would be wonderful.

Us against the world: What would happen, down the line, if after a few years of working for U.N.C.L.E and falling into a solid relationship as a trio either Napoleon or Illya or both were called back to their home agencies? Or, worse yet, Napoleon's deal is reneged upon and he ends up back in prison, or Illya's suspected of too much fraternizing with the enemy and is sent to a gulag. How might Gaby fight to get them back or how might they all work their way back to one another and/or U.N.C.L.E?

DNW: Modern AUs. (I'm not fussed about major attention to every 60s-era detail, and funky, hand-wavy spy gadget tech is totally fine, but I like the Cold War-era setting.)

Motherland: Fort Salem (TV)
Group: Sarah Alder & Original Historical Witch Soldier(s) (M:FS)
Original Witch Character (Motherland: Fort Salem)
Sarah Alder (Motherland: Fort Salem)
Other: Worldbuilding (M:FS)

What I like about this canon/fandom:
I think the worldbuilding for this show is fascinating...and full of holes screaming for further development. The alternate history is both intriguing and frustrating in its inconsistencies. At the same time, the total focus on female characters, including complex leaders like Sarah Alder, Petra Bellweather, Anacostia Quartermaine, Izadora, and even President Wade is really unique.

While I like all of the younger protagonists on the show and would be happy to have them featured, my main interest is in the older characters. I'm also game for focusing on an original witch in either the present day or at any point in history - such as during the Revolutionary era, any of the history-divergent world wars that are suggested to have happened, or really anything.

Prompts:

The Leader Alone:
What does leadership really mean for Sarah Alder? She strikes me as a complex, gray character who makes what she thinks are good choices for all, but that may only be good choices for her and her power. How did the first Biddies come to sacrifice themselves for her? How did she choose the first soldiers to serve with her, like Abigail's Bellweather ancestor? How did other nations besides the US develop their own witch militaries, and what relationships does she have with leaders, witch and non-witch, military and civilian, in other places?

Matchmaker, Matchmaker:
"Matrimonialist" appears to be a title and perhaps even a specific military rank - we see Sgt. Tansey on the show seem to lead both the Beltane ritual and Charvel Bellweather's marriage ceremony. With witchcraft ability being inherited and implied to come from extra-human physical development (per the ability of the Fort Salem witches to identify murder victims as witch-descendants by autopsying their vocal chords) it stands to reason that maintaining family lines is extremely significant. At the same time, there's enough witches who slip through the cracks that there were dozens of Bellweather-related victims previously unknown to the military. If there's a role that's equivalent to something between an archivist, matchmaker, and priestess devoted to keeping the family lines known and marrying well, what would that be like? What social and cultural norms would grow up around that - we see glimpses of some interesting worldbuilding around pregnancy in combat (considered an admirable thing, perhaps lucky for the baby?) and pagan-flavored temporary, contract-like marriages. Any exploration of this would be fantastic!

A Good Soldier:
For the Original Character prompts, what is it like to be a "regular" soldier in the all-witch US military? We see cadets, and we see the top brass, but what's life like for the average witch? Besides for injury or risk to a particular family line, are their other reasons a witch might be able to leave the service? Is there a retirement age, or is it a lifetime obligation? What's life like for those somewhere between the High Atlantic upper echelons of society and, say, Raelle's disdained, rural, and Christian-flavored witchcraft. How does the rest of the US, or even the world, react to your average witch? How has witchcraft and the resulting alternate history flavored modern American society?

DNW: No Magic AU. Primary focus on a non-witch character, though non-witch supporting characters or glimpses of their views are very welcome.

Valdemar series - Mercedes Lackey
Group: Kethry & Tarma shena Tale'sedrin (Valdemar series)

What I like about this fandom: The Valdemar books were my first fandom (I was a member of the official fan club back when that meant a monthly paper newsletter came in the mail) and I remain extremely nostalgic about the books. In particular, Tarma and Kethry's Oathbound/The Oathbreakers duology and all of their short stories are some of my favorites. I would adore a work exploring one of their adventures as mercenaries (either just as a duo or part of Idra's Sunhawks mercenary company) in the vein of the short stories. Alternately, the huge gap between the end of The Oathbreakers and when they appear again in By The Sword decades later to help Kerowyn always has me curious.

Prompts:

Oathsisters against the world: Tell me a story about one of their early adventures trying to make their way in the world as oathbound sisters. Maybe Need pulled them into a complicated situation, as usual, and they're having to defend a wronged woman in dire circumstances. Maybe they have to take a job for money out of desperation and it ends up being much more complicated than advertised-how do they make it through?

The School Years: Post The Oathbreakers, Tarma and Kethry (and Jadrek) found a school where they train royal children, baby mages, wannabe mercenaries, and others, while they also start repopulating Tarma's clan. What were those years like - wrangling students and their own children, making nice with their noble neighbors, and figuring out how to settle down, for whatever that means? Tarma and Kethry (with Jadrek) scandalizing the neighbors sounds a treat.

The Dhorisha Plains Years: At other times, when they weren't schooling young royals, they were living on the Plains reviving Tale'sedrin. Five of Kethry's children became the heart of the clan - what were they like? How did they make the decision to join the clan (and what prompted Jendar and Lenore not to? We're told for Jendar it was because he wanted to be a non-shaman mage, and Kethry thinks Lenore as the baby might have felt neglected, but was that really the case?) Alternately, I'm pretty sure in By the Sword Tarma claims they had 7 children, but only 6 are ever named in various books/short stories. Is there a Kethry/Jadrek kid That Must Not Be Named for some reason?

DNW: Modern AUs.

General Likes and Preferences

Setting tropes and AU premises I Love:

  • loyalty kink

coaldustcanary: Cersei from Game of Thrones (wine)
Dear Pine4Pine Writer:

Thanks for checking out my letter. Order below is first, some general notes about this exchange, second a list of the ships and tags I've chosen with specific prompts, and finally my general trope/kink preferences.

First, general exchange-specific notes: I don't have any hard DNWs, and I'm comfortable with fanworks of any rating. I am requesting either requited feelings or unrequited feelings for all of my chosen ships except for the MUNCLE 2015 OT3 - requited feelings only for Illya/Gaby/Napoleon, please. For the other relationships, please do feel free to make the feelings ambiguous or unrequited on the part of the non-pining character!

For freeform-matching exchanges I tend to throw out some ideas that seem interesting rather than exhaustively listing the types of fic I want to recieve. Please don't feel limited by my chosen freeforms if you have an idea that incorporates the overall exchange theme of pining and you think it fits with my general preferences or prompts.

My requests, by fandom:

Carnival Row (TV)
Tourmaline Larou/Vignette Stonemoss (Tourmaline pining)
feelings requited or unrequited
  • Wing Grooming
  • Watching Them from Afar
  • Character A pines for their former lover
  • Character A pining after brief fling years ago while Character B has moved on
  • Character A pining silently so Character B won't feel guilty for not returning their affections
  • Hurt/Comfort
  • Pining character reveals their feelings while not quite lucid (hurt/drunk/etc.)
  • Character pines for someone who thinks nothing of undressing casually in front of them
  • Character Prefers Pining For Aesthetic Reasons
  • Soulmate AU - A is pining B’s soulmate but B is not A's
  • Physical Intimacy While Pining
  • Trying to Ignore Feelings While Forced to Work in Close Quarters With Person of Their Affection

I quite enjoyed this show and Tourmaline is hands down my favorite character. I love her pragmatism and how it intersects with her artist's soul. I love how much she clearly loves Vignette and wants good things for her, but also thinks she's a total idiot half the time. I love that she's a sex worker who draws each and every one of her clients. I think it's clear that she canonically pines for Vignette, even though she tries to make sure Vignette has her opportunity to reunite with her Great Lost Love Philo.

Vignette and Tourmaline share close quarters and physical intimacy a lot in S1, and depending on how things go in S2 that might continue as they work together while trapped in the Row. After seeing Tourmaline's face as Vignette tried to leave with Philo I think it could be a very hard thing for her to deal with in many ways.

Game of Thrones (TV)
Jaime Lannister/Brienne of Tarth (GoT) (Jaime pining)
feelings requited or unrequited
  • Arranged Marriage
  • Arranged Marriage - to other people
  • Character A doesn't realise they're pining
  • epistolary pining
  • Jealousy - Feeling Like They're Being Replaced and/or Unwanted
  • A pines for B after B refuses to kill A when they ought to
  • Pining while having wounds tended
  • Pining while huddled together for warmth
  • Hurt/Comfort
  • Pining while imprisoned

Jaime Lannister is an unbelievable dumbass (and I love him so much). Jaime/Brienne has been a ship of mine for 20 years now, and while GoT S8 was a disappointing realization of the ASOIAF story for me in some ways, some of their interaction was very satisfying for my soul.

For this ship arranged marriage tropes are always fun (to each other or other people), or post-canon AUs where they're separated and Jaime's pining from afar (Casterly Rock, Essos, prison, etc). "A pines for B after B refuses to kill A when they ought to" is in particular very "them" canonically, as is Jaime totally oblivious to his jealousy of other people who interact with Brienne.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E (2015)
Illya Kuryakin/Napoleon Solo/Gaby Teller (Napoleon pining)
Illya Kuryakin/Napoleon Solo/Gaby Teller (Illya & Gaby pining)
Illya Kuryakin/Napoleon Solo/Gaby Teller (all pining)
feelings requited ONLY
  • A and B are together but pine for C to join them
  • A B and C pine obliviously for each other
  • A B and C are each convinced the other two are about to get into a relationship
  • A attributes B & C's flirting to cultural differences
  • Character A pining silently so Characters B & C won't feel guilty for not returning their affections
  • Character C Pines For Characters A & B Who Are Together - Leads to Polyamory
  • Character C Pines For Characters A and B
  • A matchmakes B and C while pining for them both
  • pining for character in a relationship leads to OT3
  • A Pining for B also Starts Pining for B's Partner C
  • Pining character reveals their feelings while not quite lucid (hurt/drunk/etc.)
  • Pining character doused with truth serum
  • A & B attribute C's flirting to cultural differences
  • Cover story complicates hidden feelings
  • Pining while having wounds tended
  • Pining while huddled together for warmth
  • Pining while sharing a bed
  • Pining while tending someone's wounds
  • Pining while trapped together
  • Hurt/Comfort
I love these dumb disaster bisexual spies so much. I like a lot of different ways for them to come together as a trio, but I'm particularly a bit weak for Napoleon trying to either matchmake or nobly stay clear of Illya and Gaby's slap-slap-kiss relationship but being reluctantly enamored of them both. On the other hand, Illya and Gaby carefully negotiating a tentative relationship despite all their cultural and political baggage and still realizing there's something missing in the person of their too-handsome, self-assured partner and trying to figure out how to reel the playboy Napoleon before he realizes he's caught in is good stuff, too. All three of them being oblivious and ridiculous is also awesome, and the farcical notion of each believing the other two are perfect for one another would be hilarious.

Setting-wise, feel free to go with any kind of ridiculous trope that spy shenanigans might set them up for as a backdrop for sharing those feelings - blizzards, daring rescues, trapped by the bad guys, truth serum, woozy from drugs, etc.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (TV)
Illya Kuryakin/Napoleon Solo (Napoleon pining)
Illya Kuryakin/Napoleon Solo (Illya pining)
Illya Kuryakin/Napoleon Solo (both pining)

feelings requited or unrequited
  • Cover story complicates hidden feelings
  • Hurt/Comfort
  • Pining character doused with truth serum
  • Pining character reveals their feelings while not quite lucid (hurt/drunk/etc.)
  • Pined-for character reveals feelings to pining character while not quite lucid (hurt/drunk/etc.)
  • Pining while tending someone's wounds
  • Pining while having wounds tended
  • Pining while huddled together for warmt
  • Pining while sharing a bed
  • Pining while trapped together
I saw the film first, but have been enjoying watching the show and falling for these somewhat different characterizations of Napoleon and Illya. I love their effective and fond working relationship and honesty with one another, as well as their rather droll, restrained sense of humor at the same time that they're always willing to sacrifice for each other in the face of danger. I mostly chose situational prompts for these two, since spy shenanigans and THRUSH always serve as good catalysts for interpersonal drama!

General trope preferences (these are in no particular order, may not apply to all fandoms/characters/relationships and include both plot tropes and sexual acts, with my most bulletproof trope/kinks in bold, so feel free to run with one if you're inspired):

hurt/comfort (physical and/or emotional), whump, torture, soulmates and soul bonds (and soulmate subversion, and soulmates played dark or strange), sex pollen, fuck or die, dubcon (especially when one person or both/all participants are consenting only under duress due to outside circumstances, such as "bad guys/magic made them do it" or sex pollen), bondage, canon divergence/"what if" AUs, first time sex (both first time sex ever for a character and first time with particular partner(s)), sex magic, pegging, praise kink, loyalty kink, sharing a bed, huddling for warmth, falling asleep on partner's shoulder, cuddling, spooning, competitive sex games (who can make the other orgasm the fastest, who can resist orgasm the longest, who can successfully finish a task while the other partner tries to get them off or tries to entice them into sex, etc), begging during sex ("please!"), sex as an emotional outlet in the wake of tragedy or grief, battle couples/trios, magical aus (give non-magical characters/canons magic), alternate magical system AUs (keep the magic, but make it different somehow), Dominance/submission (I prefer not to read lifestyle/24-7 D/s stuff, however, and if it's het I generally prefer the female character be dominant), sex between platonic friends, future fic and "next gen" fic about children of canonical characters, ghosts, communicating with the dead (via magic or weird science), enemies to lovers, threesomes, werewolves, time loops/Groundhog Day premise, competence kink, vulnerability, undercover antics and/or identity porn, sleep deprivation/exhaustion, hair touching/running fingers through hair, helping others with personal care (hair washing, injury tending, etc), noble self-sacrifice (risking harm or death to spare others punishment or to allow them to escape)

 Hi Hetswapper:

Thanks for looking at my letter. First, exchange-specific info. Second, fandom- and relationship-specific prompts. Finally, my big list of preferred tropes and kinks if you're looking for more general ideas for a fic or art.

For this exchange I have no hard DNWs and I'm comfortable receiving fic or art of any rating. I do most of my fandom social media over at Tumblr - http://coaldustcanary.tumblr.com/ - so if you want to peruse it to get a sense of what I like feel free.

Fandoms and prompts:

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (2015)
Illya Kuryakin/Napoleon Solo/Gaby Teller
Illya Kuryakin/Gaby Teller
Napoleon Solo/Gaby Teller

What I like about the canon: Spy hijinx, snappy banter, reluctantly cooperative enemies due to international politics become friends and a weird little oddly-fond found family of sorts.

Illya/Napoleon/Gaby is my OT3 of choice these days, but I am very keen on both Illya/Gaby and (the odd couple) Napoleon/Gaby as well. Don't feel hemmed in my my prompts - I am always happy for anything for this fandom, especially tropey nonsense that fits with spy games - truth serum, sex pollen, sharing a bed (for the mission!), etc.

For art, anything that plays with the really gorgeous palette of the film would be amazing. Character-wise, either or both of the guys helping Gaby - with picking out clothes, with learning spy skills, or with a kiss or a cuddle or an orgasm would be a delight.

For the trio: In the spirit of the exchange, something that focuses on the boys' relationship with Gaby would be keen. Maybe they get competitive over teaching her about their Elite Spy Skills while trying to one-up the other, with Gaby dryly amused in the middle. (Maybe they keep trying to one-up the other in the "best in bed" department, too.)

For Illya/Gaby, I like the notion of them being undercover together like in the film on a later mission, but perhaps having to play at a different dynamic - for example, maybe months later they've begun a relationship for real, but instead of playing a loving couple in the field they have to pretend to be at each others' throats.

For Gaby/Napoleon, maybe they banged that first night in the CIA apartment in Berlin, caught between actual interest in one another and feeling obliged to mutually seduce each other for the job? Or on a more angsty note, maybe after working for UNCLE for a time Illya dies or is recalled to Russia and they end up falling into a relationship with one another in his absence.

Once Upon a Time (TV)
Wishverse Captain Hook | Detective Rogers/Evil Queen | Regina Mills
Captain Hook | Killian Jones/Milah

Requesting my rarepairs with crossed fingers for this fandom. What I like about the fandom: Female character-focused action with the menfolk as supporting players. Ridiculous excuses to throw fairy tale worldbuilding in a blender.

For Wish Hook (Rogers)/Regina, something set in Hyperion Heights in S7 or in the Enchanted Forest post-series would be great. If during the curse, I love the idea of the recovering alcoholic Rogers and bartender Roni (Regina) having a mutual understanding, and maybe a "friends with benefits" kind of arrangement. Post-series, I like the idea of Wish Hook thinking Queen of All The Realms Regina is well out of his league, but Regina misses her friend, this softer, gentler version of Hook that she's come to really love.

For Hook/Milah, give me all the high romance and adventure of their time together as pirates before Milah's death. Or some kind of AU where she's able to return to Storybrooke from the Underworld. Their lack of closure burns at my soul, to be quite frank.

The Witcher (TV)
Geralt/Yennefer (Witcher TV)
Geralt/Jaskier/Yennefer (Witcher TV)

What I like about this fandom: A fun and solidly entertaining show that far exceeded my low expectations. Magic and weirdness and really embracing the full fantasy setting would be great for a fic or in art.

For Geralt/Yennefer - some missing scenes from the time between episodes would be great. It's clear that Geralt and Yennefer were alternately sexing and antagonizing one another semi-regularly. Tell me about or show me Geralt and Yennefer's sexcapades or them competing (as in episode 1.6) for a magical item or resource. (It seems like that wasn't the first time something like that happened.) Or, tell me about a different time they fought together on the same side--that whole battle-couple thing was *extremely* hot and clearly they'd done something similar before... Yen pegging Geralt would be excellent if that's of interest.

For Geralt/Jaskier/Yennefer - Jaskier and Yennefer realizing that they're just one another's favorite kind of bitch and lovingly ganging up on (*cough* topping *cough*) Geralt when he's being an idiot would be fun. The threesome here can absolutely be v-shaped with Geralt as the point, or it can be totally mutual all the way around.

General trope preferences (these are in no particular order, may not apply to all fandoms/characters/relationships and include both plot tropes and sexual acts, with my most bulletproof trope/kinks in bold, so feel free to run with one if you're inspired):

hurt/comfort (physical and/or emotional), whump, torture, soulmates and soul bonds (and soulmate subversion, and soulmates played dark or strange), sex pollen, fuck or die, dubcon (especially when one person or both/all participants are consenting only under duress due to outside circumstances, such as "bad guys/magic made them do it" or sex pollen), bondage, canon divergence/"what if" AUs, first time sex (both first time sex ever for a character and first time with particular partner(s)), sex magic, pegging, praise kink, loyalty kink, sharing a bed, huddling for warmth, falling asleep on partner's shoulder, cuddling, spooning, competitive sex games (who can make the other orgasm the fastest, who can resist orgasm the longest, who can successfully finish a task while the other partner tries to get them off or tries to entice them into sex, etc), begging during sex ("please!"), sex as an emotional outlet in the wake of tragedy or grief, battle couples/trios, magical aus (give non-magical characters/canons magic), alternate magical system AUs (keep the magic, but make it different somehow), Dominance/submission (I prefer not to read lifestyle/24-7 D/s stuff, however, and if it's het I generally prefer the female character be dominant), sex between platonic friends, future fic and "next gen" fic about children of canonical characters, ghosts, communicating with the dead (via magic or weird science), enemies to lovers, threesomes, werewolves, time loops/Groundhog Day premise, competence kink, vulnerability, undercover antics and/or identity porn, sleep deprivation/exhaustion, hair touching/running fingers through hair, helping others with personal care (hair washing, injury tending, etc), noble self-sacrifice (risking harm or death to spare others punishment or to allow them to escape)
coaldustcanary: Cersei from Game of Thrones (wine)
Dear Merry Maker:

Thanks for checking out my letter! In general I am OK with all ratings and warnings. I do have a couple exchange-specific DNWs - please no feederism kink or sexualized focus on weight gain or loss (but helping a loved one eat and gain back weight lost after injury or imprisonment is very much a like)

Below you'll find general food and drink themed prompts, then fandom-specific prompts, then a big list of tropes and kinks I tend to dig.

Food and drink-themed general likes:
*Cooking for someone as flirtation, as a friendly overture, or as care
*Drinking contests
*Threats made over an elaborate meal, especially in a public place or in a crowd, requiring restraint on the part of the participants
*Enjoying a meal with loved ones after hardship/imprisonment/hurt
*Food as aphrodisiac/sex pollen
*Celebratory feasts

Requested fandoms, in alphabetical order:

Game of Thrones (TV)
Jaime Lannister/Brienne of Tarth

Prompts:
*Brienne introducing Jaime to Tarth's cuisine/local brew
*Sharing a meal or drink at Winterfell
*Brienne is surprised that Jaime actually knows how to camp cook a halfway decent meal

Once Upon a Time (TV)
Captain Hook | KIllian Jones/Emma Swan

Prompts:
*Emma learns Enchanted Forest-style cooking (from Snow, Granny, Smee, someone else?) to cook "food from home" for Killian
*S4-era flirting over coffee and bear claws, or grilled cheese and onion rings
*Sharing stories about childhood privation (or rare food-related indulgences)
*Post-canon cooking for/with baby Hope

The Man From U.N.C.L.E (2015)
Illya Kuryakin/Napoleon Solo/Gaby Teller

Prompts:
*Fanon is usually that Solo does all the cooking - what if Illya and/or Gaby are quite good at it, also? (I could see them getting quite competitive about it.)
*Team dinners with lots of wine and storytelling
*Someone gets poisoned on the mission - the others have to race to find an antidote
*Post-rescue/post-injury hospital meals (or sneaking good food into the hospital against doctor's orders)

General trope preferences (these are in no particular order, may not apply to all fandoms/characters/pairings and include both plot tropes and sexual acts, with my most bulletproof trope/kinks in bold, so feel free to run with one if you're inspired):

hurt/comfort (physical and/or emotional), whump, torture, soulmates and soul bonds (and soulmate subversion, and soulmates played dark or strange), sex pollen, fuck or die, dubcon (especially when one person or both/all participants are consenting only under duress due to outside circumstances, such as "bad guys/magic made them do it" or sex pollen), bondage, canon divergence/"what if" AUs, first time sex (both first time sex ever for a character and first time with particular partner(s)), sex magic, pegging, praise kink, loyalty kink, sharing a bed, huddling for warmth, falling asleep on partner's shoulder, cuddling, spooning, competitive sex games (who can make the other orgasm the fastest, who can resist orgasm the longest, who can successfully finish a task while the other partner tries to get them off or tries to entice them into sex, etc), begging during sex ("please!"), sex as an emotional outlet in the wake of tragedy or grief, battle couples/trios, magical aus (give non-magical characters/canons magic), alternate magical system AUs (keep the magic, but make it different somehow), Dominance/submission (I prefer not to read lifestyle/24-7 D/s stuff, however, and if it's het I generally prefer the female character be dominant), sex between platonic friends, future fic and "next gen" fic about children of canonical characters, ghosts, communicating with the dead (via magic or weird science), enemies to lovers, threesomes, werewolves, time loops/Groundhog Day premise, competence kink, vulnerability, undercover antics and/or identity porn, sleep deprivation/exhaustion, hair touching/running fingers through hair, helping others with personal care (hair washing, injury tending, etc), noble self-sacrifice (risking harm or death to spare others punishment or to allow them to escape)

Hi Hurt/Comfort Author! Below you'll find my signups for H/C Exchange, including prompts for various relationships, and at the very end is a catch-all list of Stuff I Like in fanworks.

I am comfortable with all ratings and AO3 content warnings.

Requests (alphabetical order):

Game of Thrones (TV)
Yara Greyjoy/Daenerys Targaryen (hurt Daenerys)

Tags:

  • Came back from dead the same but traumatized by having died + the circumstances of their death
  • Came back to life wrong
  • Aftermath of Temporary Character Death
  • Canonically Dead Character Survives
  • Temporary Character Death - Revival Quest

Notes/Requests/About: What I'd really like for this pairing is something that tackles and addresses canon, though whether it would count as a "fix-it" is up to you. (In my opinion, literally anything written by fans is superior to season 8 of Game of Thrones and it all counts as a "fix-it".)

I'm a huge fan of Dany/Yara and their limited canonical interaction. I think the manner of Dany's death in S8 was sloppy and unsatisfying. If she never died in the first place (but was likely still in some way betrayed) or did die and through some magical means returned to life, how would she cope, and how might Yara respond? I am not looking per se for a happy ending, here, just something that explores their relationship and what things might look like for Dany after the war's end. Feel free to take things dark; maybe a post-series Dany is even more justified in her actions of vengeance. Maybe she does become Queen of Westeros despite everything and rules, beautiful and terrible, with Yara by her side. Anything that features Drogon is a plus, but certainly not a requirement.

I love this trio of beloved dumbass spies so much, and I am absolutely here for any kind of h/c scenario you can come up with for them. I've just chosen some classic tropes that I think are reasonably consistent with canon and fanon for spy shenanigans to throw at the wall. Spy shenanigans = trope goldmines. Obviously read "both" as "all" and anything with "A" and "B" as being assignable to any one or two characters as long as at least one is experiencing the hurt and one is there to comfort. (Any two out of three being hurt is also great, I just didn't want to go overboard with the nominated relationships.)

I live for them being unexpectedly gentle with one another and being vulnerable in front of each other, but also at the same time absolutely dedicated to The Job and general world-saving as UNCLE agents. I would say that the tag "World-weary broken people find comfort and understanding with each other" is kind of my personal headcanon for how they'd work out as a team post-film; they are obviously skilled, smart, and resilient. (And, aside from Gaby, rather ill-used by their superiors.) They are also very obviously superstorm bisexual disasters with extremely mixed feelings about their partnership, both professionally and otherwise, but already deeply fond of one another even before the film's end.

While I'm happy to see these tropes apply to literally any arrangement of the characters, I tend to think the "character breaks down upon seeing transcripts of coworkers standing up for them" might work particularly well for Illya (particularly if we imagine Illya as one of very few, if any, Soviet agents aligned with UNCLE, and potentially not trusted) while "attempted self-sacrifice is thwarted" and "character must convincingly pretend to betray others" might work best for career criminal Napoleon. That said, if you want to go in a different direction, please feel free!

Note: I've watched very little of the TV show, but I'm well-read enough in the fandom that I can enjoy using TV worldbuilding (THRUSH, UNCLE HQ in New York, etc) details.

  • Hurt/Comfort

I primarily ship the OT3 in this fandom, but I have a weird soft-spot curiosity for the comparatively rare-pair side of the triangle, Gaby/Napoleon. Their canon interaction is obviously far more limited than Gaby/Illya and Illya/Napoleon, the two major ships in the fandom, but I'm kind of itching for something where they hook up while mutually grieving a dead (or presumed dead?) Illya, or while they wait to find out if Illya survives a very serious hurt. Whether they both previously had a relationship with Illya, or just one did while the other was pining, or both were pining furiously doesn't matter to me. Extremely angsty sex would be wonderful and an explicit rating welcome, but not necessary. (If this eventually turns into an OT3 thing once Illya recovers or is recovered, that's great, but feel free to take it dark, tragic, or painful.)

The other possible Gaby/Napoleon prompts I'm curious about would be specific to the Hurt Napoleon variation - maybe some kind of lingering resentment (or even permanent injury, physical or psychological) as a result of the torture Napoleon experienced at the hands of Gaby's Uncle Rudi after she double-crossed Illya and Napoleon and gave up their covers to the Vinciguerras. I tend to agree with Waverly's in-film assessment that their covers were as thin as cellophane by then anyway, but even "put on a bright smile when your blackmailer boss asks" Napoleon Solo might nurse some resentments over that as they find their footing as a new team post-film, and Gaby's young and inexperienced enough in the spy game that she might be feeling a lot of guilt or blame that she covers over with bravado. Alternately - Solo sacrifices himself and gets tortured again (maybe even with electricity again specifically) and Gaby has a front row seat this time around. (I'm also more than fine with this scenario having OT3 elements and Illya's involvement if you're inclined, as long as the Napoleon-Gaby relationship gets explored as well.)

Note: I've watched very little of the TV show, but I'm well-read enough in the fandom that I can enjoy using TV worldbuilding (THRUSH, UNCLE HQ in New York, etc) details.

The Witcher (TV)

Geralt of Rivia/Jaskier/Yennefer of Vengerberg (hurt Geralt and Yennefer)
Geralt of Rivia/Jaskier/Yennefer of Vengerberg (hurt Geralt)

  • Character is ashamed of needing help/comfort
  • Character is extremely bad-tempered about comfort
  • Fairy Tale Curses
  • Guilt-tripping reluctant character into getting injuries seen to
  • Loss of Powers
  • Sharing a Bed
  • Stuck in a Blizzard (TOGETHER)
  • Taking care of hurt friend(s) leads to realization of romantic feelings
  • Whump - Character hiding illness/injury collapses

Geralt and Yennefer are hugely-powerful, magic-infused beings...and absolutely terrible at accepting help and comfort when something's wrong with them. I want to see Jaskier and Yennefer taking care of Geralt, or Jaskier taking care of both Geralt and Yen to the best of his ability, and with sheer determination forcing them to accept his aid and gentle care, despite his/their protests and snarling and "I don't need your help, bard!" grumbling. Handwave away his/their powers with a curse or a spell! Overwhelm his/their ability to shrug off lesser harms and give him/them the damn (magical fantasy world) flu! Geralt and/or Yen can be totally bad-tempered sulky babies about it and yet they absolutely need Jaskier's help, and maybe discover that it's not so terrible to accept some assistance or bundle up against the weather together.

If there is sexual comfort or just plain sex I tend to prefer Geralt bottoming (to either Jaskier or Yenn or both) and even a little submissive in bed as he's cared for but if you're moved to write any sexytimes differently please feel free.

General trope preferences (these are in no particular order, may not apply to all fandoms/characters/pairings and include both plot tropes and sexual acts, with my most bulletproof trope/kinks in bold, so feel free to run with one if you're inspired):

hurt/comfort (physical and/or emotional), whump, torture, soulmates and soul bonds (and soulmate subversion, and soulmates played dark), sex pollen, fuck or die, dubcon (especially when one person or both/all participants are consenting only under duress due to outside circumstances, such as "bad guys/magic made them do it" or sex pollen), bondage, canon divergence/"what if" AUs, first time sex (both first time sex ever for a character and first time for a particular pairing), sex magic, pegging, praise kink, loyalty kink, sharing a bed, huddling for warmth, falling asleep on someone, cuddling, spooning, competitive sex games (who can make the other orgasm the fastest, who can resist orgasm the longest, who can successfully finish a task while the other partner tries to get them off or tries to entice them into sex, etc), begging for/during sex, sex as an emotional outlet in the wake of tragedy, battle couples/trios, magical aus (give non-magical characters/canons magic), alternate magical system AUs (keep the magic, but make it different somehow), Dominance/submission (I prefer not to read lifestyle/24-7 D/s stuff, however, and if it's het I generally prefer the female character be dominant), sex between platonic friends, future fic and "next gen" fic about children of canonical characters, ghosts, communicating with the dead (via magic or weird science), enemies to lovers, threesomes, werewolves, time loops/Groundhog Day premise, competence kink, vulnerability, undercover antics and/or identity porn, sleep deprivation/exhaustion, hair touching/running fingers through hair, helping others with personal care (hair washing, injury tending, etc)

Hi there! Thanks for checking out my letter. I list some fandom and ship-specific prompts below, and at the end you'll see a list of some of my favorite tropes and kinks. As a general rule: I'm fine with any rating--mostly I just want to see intimacy play out in some way. I very much welcome M and E-rated sexy content, but it isn't by any means a requirement.

Valdemar Series - Mercedes Lackey
Dirk/Kris/Talia (Valdemar)

Missed opportunity threesome of my teenaged heart!

Hell, let Kris stay dead and tell me about how they deal with his loss. How do they feel when Selenay names her own son Kris some years later?

I'm game for just about anything you want to do, though I'd prefer no setting AUs (keep them in Valdemar, that is - feel free to do canon divergence, alternate timeline, fix-it, etc).

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (2015)
Illya Kuryakin/Napoleon Solo/Gaby Teller (UNCLE 2015)
Napoleon Solo/Gaby Teller (UNCLE 2015)

So Illya/Napoleon/Gaby is my ultimate OT3. I really love tropes in this fandom: whump and hurt/comfort (someone, or all of them, gets hurt on the mission, how do they take care of each other?), bedsharing (FOR THE MISSION!) or huddling for warmth (caught in the snow, trapped in a dungeon, etc). Alternately, someone gets dosed with truth serum, or sex pollen, or hallucinogens, etc, and needs care.

I love imagining them becoming close, but there's definitely a lot of baggage there, between their political allegiances and the fact that they were all using one another (sometimes more honestly than at other times) in the film. How do they deal with that, post-film?

Sexy prompt: Competence kink. They are all good at what they do--what might each of them excel at that turns the others on? Could be spy-related skills or something totally off the wall.

For the Napoleon/Gaby pairing specifically, obviously they're the rarepair in the fandom, as most folks ship Illya/Gaby or Illya/Napoleon for very sensible reasons. However, I'm always curious about Solo and Gaby's relationship during and after the film. (That said, feel free to focus on Napoleon/Gaby with a background of the OT3 if you like.) Possible ideas:

They hook up that first night in West Berlin For The Job--and maybe it gets awkward later when they're working together. Or maybe they decide they want another go of it, when they're both more honest with one another about their motives. (Or Illya finds out and feels some kind of way about it, considering all the missed kisses with Gaby and...tension with Solo.)

Angsty option 1: Solo finds he's carrying a bit of resentment/baggage about Gaby selling him out and the resultant torture (after all, Waverly was very breezy about how they expected Illya to be able to escape easily, but Solo sure didn't) and has to work it out even as he finds himself attracted to Gaby. On the flip side, maybe Gaby carries some guilt about it.

Angsty option 2, hardmode: Illya dies or is otherwise removed from the team (recalled to the KGB, perhaps) and Solo and Gaby end up gravitating toward one another in his absence. Up to you whether either or both had a relationship with Illya before he was gone, or if they are just mourning missed chances with one another. (Or they find out Illya got "recalled" but is really in a Siberian gulag and they need to go do something about that, and end up getting together along the way...)

The Witcher (TV)
Geralt of Rivia/Jaskier (The Witcher (TV))
Geralt of Rivia/Yennefer of Vengerberg (The Witcher (TV))

My god, I love this ridiculous show. For the record, I've not read the books, and I've only played a few hours of The Witcher 3, so I don't have a lot of canon knowledge beyond what we've seen in the tv series and some stuff I've picked up by fannish osmosis, but I'm not fussed about spoilers, so feel free to incorporate either book or game canon as it pleases you.

For either relationship I'm really game to see some missing scenes. The show skipped so much time along the way, but also made it clear that Geralt had Jaskier tagging along on a number of adventures, and that Geralt and Yennefer were alternately sexing and antagonizing one another semi-regularly.

Tell me a story of Geralt and Jaskier bonding over a campfire, or Jaskier trying to get the details right for a song up close and personal, not just for himself, but because it matters. Or Jaskier trying to make friends with Roach in order to impress Geralt. (Maybe Roach is charmed by his efforts and tries to set them up.)

Or tell me about the chamomile and Geralt's lovely bottom, however that happened. ;) That was awfully early in their relationship--how has it changed over the years? Alternately, after their parting I expect Geralt and Jaskier's next meeting might be a bit tense.

Tell me about Geralt and Yennefer's sexcapades or them competing (as in episode 1.6) for a magical item or resource. (It seems like that wasn't the first time something like that happened.) Or, tell me about a different time they fought together on the same side--that whole battle-couple thing was *extremely* hot and clearly they'd done something similar before...

Sexcapades-specific prompt: Yen pegging a slightly dubious but eventually very enthusiastic Geralt.

Alternately, how does Geralt answer Ciri's question about Yennefer at the end of the series? It seems like fate keeps on dragging them together, and Yen isn't far away at that point (though how she's doing after that huge magical exertion is a fair question). Fate has certainly been intervening sharply of late--maybe Geralt finds himself somehow dragged straight to Yennefer next with Ciri in tow.

For what it's worth I feel like Geralt/Jaskier and Geralt/Yennefer probably can coexist at the same time, considering that they all keep falling into one another's lives intermittently. Consider this something of an optional 'and' request and include both relationships in your fic by mixing and matching these prompts! I don't really see them as a threesome (more a poly V where neither Jaskier or Yennefer are particularly bothered by the fact that the other is with Geralt much of the time) but if you get an idea for writing them as a trio, please go for it! Jaskier seemed to certainly enjoy being a voyeur during Geralt and Yennefer's initial hook up, for example...

General trope preferences (these are in no particular order, may not apply to all fandoms/characters/pairings and include both plot tropes and sexual acts - but feel free to run with one if you're inspired):

hurt/comfort (physical and/or emotional), whump, soulmates (and soulmate subversion, and soulmates played dark), sex pollen, fuck or die, dubcon (especially when both/all parties are consenting only under duress due to outside circumstances, such as "bad guys/magic made them do it"), bondage, canon divergence/"what if" AUs, first time sex (both first time sex ever and first time for a particular pairing), sex magic, pegging, praise kink, loyalty kink, sharing a bed, huddling for warmth, falling asleep on someone, cuddling, spooning, competitive sex games (who can make the other orgasm the fastest, who can resist orgasm the longest, who can successfully finish a task while the other partner tries to get them off or tries to entice them into sex, etc), begging for/during sex, sex as an emotional outlet in the wake of tragedy, battle couples/trios, alternate magical system AUs (keep the magic, but make it different somehow), Dominance/submission (situational, prefer not to read lifestyle/24-7 D/s stuff, and if it's het I generally prefer the female character be dominant), sex between platonic friends, future fic and "next gen" fic about children of canonical characters, ghosts, communicating with the dead (via magic or weird science), enemies to lovers, threesomes, werewolves
coaldustcanary: Cersei from Game of Thrones (wine)
Hi folks. Thanks for checking out my letter. This year I'm requesting both fic and art, as well as both tricks and treats for all fandoms. I don't really distinguish prompts below as either tricks or treats - feel free to take any prompt in either a more fun/fluffy/positive/sexy or angsty/grim/dark/horror direction as you please. I love supernatural themes-ghosts, werewolves, witches, vampires, etc. as well. Below the list of fandoms is a big list of trope and kink likes - if nothing else, feel free to pick a character and a trope or kink and go for it.

Fandom: Africa - Toto (Song)

I unironically truly love this song. I'm game for any takes on the lyrics that you might choose to pursue, though I'm particularly partial to the theory espoused in this Twitter thread: https://twitter.com/hradzka/status/954767458769883136 (Text of the thread below)

"gonna take a lot to drag me away from you / there's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do"

so why is the singer not with her now?

This is my theory of Toto's "Africa:"

in Toto's "Africa," why is the speaker in Africa in the first place?

Answer: he is "hoping to find some long-forgotten words or ancient melodies."

He is a student of the occult.

Why has the singer of Toto's "Africa" gone to Africa, leaving his love, in order to hunt up obscure folklore? He tells you: "I seek to cure what's deep inside / frightened of this thing that I've become."

ie, he's a goddamn werewolf

"wild dogs cry out in the night / as they grow restless, longing for some solitary company"

those aren't dogs

Why does he bless the rains down in Africa? Because the cloud cover blocks the moon.

tl;dr: Toto's "Africa" is about a lovesick werewolf in Africa seeking out ancient lore to find a cure for his unfortunate condition.

Fandom: John Wick (Movies)
Characters: Gianna D'Anonio, Cassian, John Wick

I love the "hidden underworld" motif, and the arcane ways of the assassin's world. The Continental and its rules, blood oaths and Herculean task challenges, and the idea of moving in and out of a shadowy other-world as John does over the course of the films. Everything is so over-the-top and yet the dialogue is so understated - I love that.

Prompts:
I would be very pleased to receive straight-up worldbuilding in this setting - please feel free to barely mention any requested character and tell me a story about how you perceive the details of the world. An outsider's POV would be fascinating - either a true outsider to the setting, or someone who works for the Assassins but isn't actually one, perhaps. How did they perceive the events of any film, especially Gianna and/or Santino's deaths and what it means for the future that John flouted the rules so explicitly? How did they perceive - and how do they talk about - the events of John's Task that allowed him to leave their world years ago?

I would also love fic that explores the past that John and Gianna are strongly implied to share. Were they lovers? What was that like? Their hands are metaphorically - and sometimes literally - dripping with blood, the both of them, and while the John of the films seems to be ambivalent about aspects of his past, Gianna seems to be totally unashamed. Has it always been that way?

Alternately, an entirely morbid canon divergence fic in which Gianna requests (demands? draws on old promises to compel?) a final fling with John "for old time's sake" before he kills her could be both highly creepy and very hot - dubcon and/or femdom themes welcome. Could still end with Gianna's death or be ambiguous or go entirely AU somehow...

What about how Cassian and Gianna came to meet? What was their relationship like? Or what brought Cassian into the assassin's world? Or what happened to him after John Wick 2?

Fandom: The Man from UNCLE (2015)
Characters: Illya Kuryakin, Gaby Teller, Napoleon Solo

I've become really enamored of this silly movie in the past year. For what it's worth I ship the three of them together as an OT3 and also any pairing among them. I also really, really am fond of them as friends and teammates with a more gen take on their relationships. I'm prompting more general group things, mostly, but feel free to narrow the focus to any individual character.

Anything where any one of the trio rescue the others (just as the movie emphasizes Napoleon saving Illya, then Illya saving Napoleon, then both of the boys saving Gaby) going in all Big Damn Hero and taking the risk for the team is always fun. (Doesn't have to have a happy ending, either.)

Glimpses of AU/canon divergence where they don't all get claimed by Waverly to work together as a team at the end, or never cooperate in the first place, and are playing spy vs. spy games against each other.

A RED movies AU - "retired, extremely dangerous" former agents being pursued by the CIA and/or KGB at the end of the Cold War. Circa 1991, when the Berlin Wall came down, Illya and Napoleon would be in their early 60s and Gaby in her 50s per the dates on their film credit dossiers. What if the agencies that had reluctantly played along with UNCLE during the Cold War decided it was too dangerous to have agents like those running around, even retired?

A supernatural AU - they're none of them quite human, and that's what explains their ability to be such successful (and ridiculous) spies.

How did Illya become so clued in to fashion? What's his relationship with his mother like?

Is Solo's mother really the only one who calls him Napoleon? Is that even his real name?

What were the literal years Gaby spent waiting to be approached by the people who kidnapped her father like? How does she grieve his loss after the events of the film?

General trope preferences (these are in no particular order, may not apply to all fandoms/characters/pairings and include both plot tropes and sexual acts - but feel free to run with one if you're inspired):

hurt/comfort (physical and/or emotional), whump, soulmates (and soulmate subversion, and soulmates played dark), sex pollen, fuck or die, dubcon (especially when both/all parties are consenting only under duress due to outside circumstances), bondage, canon divergence/"what if" AUs, first time sex (both first time sex ever and first time for a particular pairing), sex magic, pegging, praise kink, sharing a bed, huddling for warmth, falling asleep on someone, cuddling, spooning, competitive sex games (who can make the other orgasm the fastest, who can resist orgasm the longest, who can successfully finish a task while the other partner tries to get them off or tries to entice them into sex, etc), begging for/during sex, sex as an emotional outlet in the wake of tragedy, battle couples/trios, alternate magical system AUs, Dominance/submission with Dominant female/submissive male or Dominant female/submissive female (situational, prefer not to read lifestyle/24-7 D/s stuff), sex between platonic friends, future fic and "next gen" fic about children of canonical characters, ghosts, communicating with the dead (via magic or weird science), enemies to lovers, threesomes, werewolves (preferably not A/B/O-style)
